USA: Scholarships at Fordham University, New York, New York

Fordham, the Jesuit University of New York, is now offering exciting opportunities in the fields of physics, pre-health, and Orthodox Christian Studies.

Situated on two campuses in the heart of culture and commerce, New York City, Fordham offers undergraduate and graduate students a distinctive educational experience rooted in the Jesuit tradition of intellectual rigor and personal attention.

a.. The physics program at Fordham is composed of three distinct programs of study, the physics major, engineering physics major, and 3-2 and 4-2 engineering program. The physics major gives students a strong grounding in physics and prepares students for later graduate studies. Engineering majors are given a similar physics foundation and the academic freedom to pursue interests in the field of applied science. The 3-2 and 4-2 engineering programs result in dual degrees in physics from Fordham and either a bachelors or masters degree in Engineering from either Columbia University or Case Western Reserve University

b.. With a sound academic structure and a strong reputation, Fordham's pre-health professional program prepares students for success in medical school and beyond. During the course of study pre-health students receive professions advising, attend a pre-health symposium, have the opportunity to pursue research and acquire clinical and volunteer experience, and have the option to integrate professional and social life at the Science Integrated Learning Community.

c.. Adding to the diverse array of academic options, beginning in the Fall of 2007, Fordham College of Rose Hill offers an undergraduate interdisciplinary minor in Orthodox Christian Studies. The minor consists of two required courses and four electives that directly or indirectly explore Orthodox culture and tradition taken within the departments of Art & Music History, Comparative Literature, History, Medieval Studies, Philosophy, and Theology.
