CLIR Postdoctoral Fellowship in Scholarly Information Resources 2006
The Council on Library and Information Resources (CLIR) is pleased to announce the 2006 Postdoctoral Fellowship Program in Scholarly Information Resources for Humanists. Now in its third year, the fellowship provides new scholars in the humanities a unique opportunity to develop expertise in the new forms of scholarly research and the information resources that support them, both traditional and digital, that are challenging research institutions. The program offers fellowships to individuals who have earned their Ph.D.s in disciplines in the humanities within the past five years (or who will earn them before starting the program) and who believe that there are opportunities to develop meaningful linkages between disciplinary scholarship, libraries, archives, and evolving digital tools. All
fields in the humanities will be considered; Fellows must be in residence at a
sponsoring institution for the duration of the fellowship.
The CLIR Fellowship Program is designed to give the best recent Ph.D. recipients in the humanities a unique opportunity to develop as information professionals and scholars. Fellows are placed at different institutions, each with specific goals and projects for the participants. Fellows are afforded the opportunity to participate in the intellectual life of their institutions by working within the areas of academic librarianship; archives and archive management; special collections; curricular development; teaching and learning support (techno-pedagogy); and digital resource production and use. In addition, Fellows contribute to the development
of the CLIR Program by participating in an intensive summer seminar; sharing
work-in-progress through electronic portfolios; meeting regularly in virtual
seminars with leading figures in the fields of librarianship, the humanities, and other related areas. Previous Fellows have gone on to launch careers in libraries, archives and special collections; consulting and writing; digital resource management; pedagogy support; and university faculty positions. A few of the Fellows have decided to pursue additional degrees in Library and Information Sciences and/or Technology.
Fellowships of one to two years in length will be awarded. The fellowship will pay a salary plus benefits at one of the collaborating research libraries, each of which will serve as a fellowship sponsor. The fellowship includes an intensive seminar designed to challenge participants to think broadly about the changes under way in research methodologies, the creation of new scholarly resources, and the demands
these changes place on critical academic institutions such as universities, libraries and archives. CLIR believes that the deep subject knowledge PhDs offer, combined with their experiences in the classroom and with research trends, can be invaluable to the development of pedagogically-sound scholarly resources. While libraries are increasingly hiring IT specialists to complement the traditional work performed by librarians, they are also becoming aware of the need to hire advanced scholar-professionals whose abilities span the areas of subject specialization, pedagogy, technology, and new media research. Scholars pursuing innovative career paths in universities, libraries, archives, and special collections can play a
crucial role in shaping the future of scholarly resource management and use
across academe, and the fellowship provides hands-on experience and theoretical foundations in the traditional and emerging approaches to scholarship creation and stewardship.
Participant Eligibility
At this time, this program is limited to scholars in the humanities. For the
fields included in the humanities, we have adopted the definition used by NEH:
According to the 1965 National Foundation on the Arts and the Humanities Act, "The term 'humanities' includes, but is not limited to, the study of the following: language, both modern and classical; linguistics; literature; history; jurisprudence; philosophy; archaeology; comparative religion; ethics; the history, criticism and theory of the arts; those aspects of social sciences which have humanistic content and employ humanistic methods; and the study and application of the humanities to the human environment with particular attention to reflecting our diverse heritage, traditions, and history and to the relevance of the humanities to the current conditions of national life."
The applicant must have received a Ph.D. in a humanities discipline no more than five years before applying (i.e., after February 24, 2001); if a Ph.D. has not yet been received, all work toward the degree (including dissertation defense and final dissertation editing) must be completed before starting the fellowship.
Program Timeline
Applications and all accompanying information must be sent to CLIR, postmarked no later than February 24, 2006.
Applicants will be notified of their status in April.
The seminar will be held in the summer of 2006 at Bryn Mawr College. The fellowship will begin mid-summer (dates will vary somewhat by institution).

Institute for Labour Law and Industrial Relations in the European Community Trier, Germany
Universität Trier offers four doctoral scholarships at the Institute for Labour Law and Industrial Relations in the European Community (IAAEG), located at the University of Trier, starting April 1, 2006. Highly qualified students are encouraged to apply for the scholarships, which can last for a maximum of three years. The stipends will be above average (no teaching obligation).
The concept of the programme is the interdisciplinary analysis of labour market institutions from the economic, legal, and comparative perspectives. It focuses especially on the design of efficient labour market institutions and the implementation of appropriate policies in (multinational) companies, employer and worker organisations, national or regional governments, and the institutions of the European Union. Doctoral students will take part in an excellence course curriculum which serves in a theoretical as well as in a methodological way as preparation for the dissertation project.
Applicants should hold an exceptional Master Degree or equivalent in Law, Economics, or Management or another social science. Apart from English (TOEFL is needed) we expect proficiency in another European language. An international background in education or an LL.M as well as the GRE will be considered to the applicant’s advantage. Applicants should not have exceeded the age of 28.

Geraldine R. Dodge Post-Doctoral Fellowship
The Rutgers Institute on Ethnicity, Culture, and the Modern Experience seeks a recent Ph.D. in the humanities or social sciences to serve as the fifth Geraldine R. Dodge Fellow at the Institute during academic year 2006-2007. Located in the Faculty of Arts and Sciences at Rutgers-Newark, the Institute is an interdisciplinary program that sponsors scholarly programming for the general public, encourages interracial and multi-cultural understanding, and serves as a hub for the promotion of research and collegial discussion on the social construction of ethnicity and race in modern societies.
The Dodge Fellow will provide administrative and programmatic assistance in the development of the Institute^s short and long-range initiatives in public scholarship, particularly its efforts to bring prominent scholars into the public sphere and promote Rutgers^ humanitarian service to community based organizations.
Current Institute programs include:
• The annual Marion Thompson Wright Lecture, held during Black History Month on the Rutgers-Newark campus for the past 23 years
• On-campus programs that inform and stimulate discourse on race and ethnicity, including an on-going faculty colloquium
• Community-based lectures and forums Such as City Children and their Cultures and The Gustav Heningburg Civic Fellows that enhance the cultural literacy of local citizens of Metropolitan Newark.
The Dodge Fellow will be expected to make contributions to the new scholarship on race and ethnicity and to share her or his work with local communities.
This post-doctoral fellowship has been supported by the Geraldine R. Dodge Foundation which "seeks to be an enabler, backing persons, ideas, and institutions who serve a purpose that transcends self-interest and may contribute to sustain human society and the environment which sustains it."
Qualifications include an earned Ph.D., an interest in public scholarship, an ability to work across academic disciplines, and an active engagement in
scholarship deserving of publication.
The post-doctoral fellowship is for the academic year 2006-2007, with a possible renewal for a second year. Fellows will receive an annual salary of $40,000*, and a modest stipend for research materials and/or related conference travel. Rutgers University also offers liberal personal benefits, including comprehensive medical and dental plans. An office, computer, and access to University resources are available.

Master in International Studies (MIS)
The Master in International Studies (MIS) is a two-year programme that will replace the current Institute DEA programme as of October 2006. It is designed for students wishing to develop expertise in one of the disciplines of the Institute (International Economics, International History and Politics, International Law, Political Science). The programme prepares students for doctoral studies, research and careers requiring strong professional skills in the public and private sectors. The degree specifies the discipline of specialization.
The curriculum involves intensive training at an advanced level in the main

The twelve-month Master's Program in Climate and Society trains professionals and academics to understand climate scienc and policy and to manage climate risk.
Advances in climate modeling and prediction - with regard to both climate variability (El Nino) and longer-term climate change - have changed the landscape of human knowledge. For drought-stricken farmers of the developing world, for shantytown dwellers at the mercy of hurricanes and mud slides, for governments trying to make the most of limited resources as they strive for development, and
for multibillion dollar insurance, energy, transportation, and food corporations, this new scientific knowledge can offer better ways to respond to the problems and opportunities created by a varying climate. But decision makers must understand how to make effective use of this new knowledge.
Consequently, an acute need exists for professionals who understand the links between climate and society and who can to understand and manage climate risk. However, this is not easy to do. Columbia University's new Masters Program in Climate Science and Policy (officially known as the M.A. Program in Climate and Society) is attempting to provide the knowledge and skills to meet this need and

The topic of this year seminar is:
"Women and Politics - Ten Years After"
The period between 1996 and 2006 in Eastern Europe has been a turbulent time and a period of big political, economic, cultural changes. In 1996, the war in former Yugoslavia just ended; meanwhile, many of the countries from the former communist block have become members of the European Union, so the problems of globalisation came into focus like never before. Democracy was and still is the most common word and civil society was something like a regional catchphrase. The question is whether the social dynamics related to women's problems within the general idea of human rights have been equal to those related to the societies in general. Or, in other words: to what extent have the social and political positions of women changed, and how far has the impact of their political activism reached? During the period of the last 10 years, ®enska infoteka has been organizing the annual seminars Women and Politics, each year trying to focus on a particular important political question related to women, but which is at the same time a general political question of the period, to which we all relate as human beings. Doing so, many questions have been raised, like problems of history, politics, sexuality, art and culture, and others. Each time, this was an effort to bring certain issues again into public discussion and to try to put these problems back onto the social agenda in general. This year, the jubilee will be used as the basis for summarizing these efforts, to see if some ideas and social phenomena which we discussed several years back can stand critical analysis today. The goal of such an approach is to find out what is happening with the development of women's issues. Is it perhaps the case that all that was on the agenda (in the world of the women's/feminist movement) remained marginalized and
unrecognised, or did some changes happen? If changes did happen, what was the kind of these changes? Has this been the time of deterioration of the status of women, or
improvement, or stagnation? During last 10 years, the seminar brought up in discussion topics such as:militarization, sexuality, political theory, art, history, feminist movement, Third World feminism. We invite you to think and write about these processes in feminist movement, politics and thinking in the last ten years. The papers can focus either onregional and global levels, or on the national.
We expect participants of the seminar to prepare a research paper on the topic: women in politics and changes in gender social positions / roles. Please, send absrtacts (approx. 900 characters) of your research papers by e-mail until March 1st, 2006, when the Organizing Board of the seminar will make a selection of the papers most appropriate for this year's topic. The seminar is mostly, but not exclusively, orientated toward women feminist researches and activists from non-Western countries. 1. Principles and Goals of the Course
The postgraduate course “Master of Peace and Security Policy Studies” (M.P.S.) is conducted by the University of Hamburg in cooperation with the Institut für Friedensforschung und Sicherheitspolitik (IFSH) and other scientific institutions and partners of the network “Friedensforschung und Sicherheitspolitik” (KoFrieS). The Deutsche Stiftung Friedensforschung (DSF) offers 15 scholarships for this
course.
The M. P. S.-course is trans- and interdisciplinarily orientated. It is meant as a combination of “hands on” and classroom-based learning. The course aims at introducing highly qualified humanities and sciences graduates from German or foreign universities as well as academically qualified, experienced practitioners to problems of peace- and security-policy and to fundamental issues relating their practical application. Furthermore, the course aims at imparting methods and
insights of peace research and thus at preparing the students for work in peace-studies research and teaching or for practical work for national and international organisations, administrations, associations, and businesses (e. g. peace-keeping, monitoring, verification, development aid, mediation, arbitration, conversion, administration).
2. Admission Requirements
The course is designed for students who wish to work in the fields of peace studies or peace- and security-policy. Applicants must have 240 points ECTS (usually a four-year course in no matter what discipline) and must have achieved an honours degree at a German or foreign university. Applications showing professional interest and scientific or practical experience in fields related to problems of peace and
international security will be preferred. As both teaching and research are done in German and English, sufficient knowledge of both languages is required. Students may choose whether to complete coursework and examinations, including their master´s thesis, in the English or German language.
3. Language Skills
A good working knowledge of both German and English is required for admission. Appropriate evidence must be provided by the applicants. Concerning German language skills, the German Language Examination for Foreign Students´ Admission to University (Sprachprüfung für den Hochschulzugang ausländischer Studierender) (DSH), the examination German as a Foreign Language, or any examination of equal value are
accepted. Concerning English language skills, the TOEFL (230 points/ 570 paper-based) (www.toefl.org), the IELTS (5.5), the Advanced C, or any examination of equal value are accepted. Applicants who are German or English native speakers are not required to prove their skills in their native language.
4. Financial Support
The DSF grants a total of 15 scholarships of € 1000,- each. The Admissions Committee decides about who will receive a scholarship. There will be no distinctions between German and foreign applicants. Grolier Club Library Fellowships in the History of the Book
The Grolier Club Library is pleased to announce its third annual offering of
fellowships in the history of the book. Awards of up to $2,500 are available for research in the Library's areas of strength, with emphasis on the history of antiquarian bookselling and the private collecting of books and prints in the United States, Great Britain, and Western Europe. The fellowships may be used to pay for travel, housing, and other expenses. A minimum research stay of two weeks is required, and fellows are expected to present a seminar or lecture at the Grolier Club, and submit a written report.
APPLICATION REQUIREMENTS
Grolier Club members, and students enrolled in undergraduate degree programs are not eligible, but all other interested persons are encouraged to apply. There is no application form. Applicants should submit a curriculum vitae and a proposal, not to exceed 750 words, stating necessary length of residence, historical materials to be used, relevance of the Grolier Club Library collections to the project, a proposed budget, and two letters of recommendation.
The deadline for applications and letters of support is March 1, 2006, and
announcement of awards will be made in early May, 2006. Research terms can take place any time between June 1, 2006 and May 30, 2007, but please note that the Club is closed for the month of August.

The Grolier Club Library is pleased to announce its third annual offering of
fellowships in the history of the book. Awards of up to $2,500 are available for research in the Library's areas of strength, with emphasis on the history of antiquarian bookselling and the private collecting of books and prints in the United States, Great Britain, and Western Europe. The fellowships may be used to pay for travel, housing, and other expenses. A minimum research stay of two weeks is required, and fellows are expected to present a seminar or lecture at the Grolier Club, and submit a written report.
APPLICATION REQUIREMENTS
Grolier Club members, and students enrolled in undergraduate degree programs are not eligible, but all other interested persons are encouraged to apply. There is no application form. Applicants should submit a curriculum vitae and a proposal, not to exceed 750 words, stating necessary length of residence, historical materials to be used, relevance of the Grolier Club Library collections to the project, a proposed budget, and two letters of recommendation.
The deadline for applications and letters of support is March 1, 2006, and
announcement of awards will be made in early May, 2006. Research terms can take place any time between June 1, 2006 and May 30, 2007, but please note that the Club is closed for the month of August.

CEU Political Science Journal. The Graduate Student Review is a newly emerged publication from the academic community of Central European University, Budapest. It is primarily targeted at graduate students from CEU, but valuable contributions from outside are also welcome. The Journal seeks to promote the Political Science Department and to provide prospective students with information regarding the academic level, the technical tools and approaches used, and the main areas of interest developed at CEU. In this sense, it enhances academic communication at
graduate student level.
The Journal will have periodical issues with specific themes. SIT also offers MA programs in conflict transformation.

CONTACT provides site-, organization-, and region-specific programs tailored to meet the needs of a particular organization or community in a conflict or post-conflict situation.

Summer Russian Language Program 2006
This program is specially designed for students who would like
to start studying Russian language
to improve Russian language
to prepare to study in Russia
to know more about Russian history, culture and traditions.
With 20 lessons per week, our Intensive Russian language enables our students to achieve a working command of the Russian language in a fast and efficient manner. The class size is limited to four students and lessons are normally Monday through Friday from 9.45 a.m. to 13.05 p.m. or from 11.30 a.m. to 15.05 p.m.
Summer Russian Language Program consists of three main parts:
1. Study program
2. Homestay program
3. Cultural program
Study program
There are courses of different levels and duration.
Levels: We offer 4 levels of instruction from complete beginners to advanced.
Teachers: Our instructors are university graduates with a solid experience teaching Russian as a Foreign language. Having spent time in other countries they possess a good knowledge of foreign cultures which help them better understand their students.
Homestay program. Pay particular attention to this point. All families are carefully selected, they have been hosting students for many years. The following is included: a separate room, access to all facilities (kitchen, bathroom, TV set, refrigerator, telephone etc.), bedroom clothing. As a rule a family became a good friend for the student. The student has to fill in application form and send it back to the office 1
month before his arrival (where he points his wishes and preferences). If some problems arise during staying we are trying to find another family. As a rule it happens very seldom.
Cultural program. We offer the following cultural activities that will help our students to get acquainted with Russian history, culture, traditions and social life. Cultural program is the optional. The cost is not included into the tuition fee.

excursions to the Local History Museum, Museum of Fine Arts, the Puppet Museum, the aquarium museum

excursion to the first Russian spa - Martial Waters and to the famous waterfall in Europe KIVACH

visiting the most rapidly developing city of Karelia Kondopoga
visiting the Veps village Sheltozero, concert of folklore music group
trips to St.Petersburg and Moscow - Russian two capitals

The University of Kansas is interested in reviewing undergraduate candidates
(entering Freshmen) for full tuition scholarships through IIE. No more than
4 per country. Transfer candidates will NOT be considered.
The estimated expenses for room, board, books, health insurance, travel and
personal expenses for the 9-month academic year NOT covered by the award are
approximately $10,329. The scholarship is valued at $15,000 per year.
If any of our overseas offices would like to nominate candidates for this award the minimum qualifications for considerations are:

THE MATSUMAE INTERNATIONAL FOUNDATION 2007 FELLOWSHIP ANNOUNCEMENT
APPLICABLE FOR THE PERIOD OF APRIL 2007 THROUGH MARCH 2008
DEADLINE FOR APPLICATION: JULY 31, 2006
The Fund of the Matsumae International Foundation is based on donations from many Japanese people who have responded with goodwill to Dr. Shigeyoshi Matsumae's call. While many donations are kindly offered by enterprises and groups, most of the donators are individuals who are sympathetic with the Founder's ideals, and maintain regular contributions to the Fund from their limited incomes.
Successful applicants are urged to seriously consider and understand the goodwill of those persons, and ensure that the provided fellowships are utilized effectively.
1. ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS
Applicants of non-Japanese nationality who meet all of the following general eligibility requirements are invited to submit the required application documents.
Applicants must hold a Doctorate degree, or have a minimum of two years of research experience after receipt of a Master's degree, or be recognized by the Foundation as possessing equivalent academic qualifications.
Applicants must not be over 40 years of age at the time of application.
Applicants must have sufficient conversational ability in English or Japanese to prevent insurmountable difficulties during their research activities in Japan.
Applicants should not have been in Japan previously. Application must be submitted from the applicant's home country. Under no circumstances will an application be accepted from a person already in Japan.
Applicants who have firm positions and professions in their home nations should apply from their countries, and should return to their countries on completion of their research activities in Japan.
Applicants who have previously been invited by the Matsumae International Foundation are not eligible for this fellowship program.
2. FIELDS OF STUDY
Fields of study such as natural science, engineering and medicine are given first priority.
3. PERIOD AND NUMBER OF FELLOWSHIPS
Between April 2007 and March 2008, applicants are free to choose the length of period of fellowship stay from six months to three months. The fellowship grant is restricted to the period indicated in the Grant Letter. The number of fellowships is about 20 persons.
4. HOST INSTITUTION IN JAPAN
Applicants are free to select host institutions (university research laboratories, national research institutions or the corresponding facilities of private industry) in which to carry out their research. However, applicants are cautioned that they are obliged to obtain acceptance from such host institutions prior to submitting their applications. The Foundation cannot give counsel or advice to an applicant who does not submit appropriate information concerning his/her host institution in Japan.
5. APPLICATION PROCEDURE
Applicants should obtain the latest issue of the Fellowship Announcement from the Foundation.
The Foundation cannot entertain requests for waivers of the eligibility requirements and other conditions, listed in the Fellowship Announcement, and will not respond to such requests.
Applicants cannot submit applications from inside Japan.
The Foundation never receives applications by Fax or E-mail.
The Foundation receives applications ONLY by mail/postal-service or other delivery service.
Applications must be received by the Foundation by July 31, 2006, at the latest.
6. APPLICATION DOCUMENTS
All of the following documents (#1~#8) - A4 in size - should be submitted on one occasion by the applicant to the Foundation.
All documents must be type-written in English. Documents written in any language other than English will be ignored.
Submitted applications which do not contain all of the required documents will be automatically rejected.
The Foundation will not be responsible for costs incurred in submitting an application, and reserves the right to request additional documents if necessary.
All documents received become the property of the Foundation, and will not be returned.
#1 A completed Application Form together with the applicant's photograph. Applicants should use Form specified by the Foundation, or an exact photocopy. (Hand-made Form is not accepted.) The FORM is made of two pages. Applicants should ensure that every item in the application Form, without exception, is properly filled in, and should sign and date the Form in the spaces provided.
#2 A description of the Research Project. This should include detailed information on the purpose, methodology, and content of the research, and the schedule of the project. The research project must be discussed in detail with the host institution, and the planned content must be consistent with the research facilities at the host institution.
#3 Complete List of Publications. This should include full details of the publication: when and where published, co-authors' names (where applicable), size and number of pages, etc. Please indicate in red the title of any publications on the list which are submitted as requested in item "#4".
#4 Reprint(s) of what the applicant considers to be his or her most important publication(s) written in English. If unavailable, a brief abstract written in English by the applicant.
#5 Personal History.
#6 A letter of recommendation from the applicant's employer and/or supervisor testifying to academic ability and achievements, and confirming the availability of study leave covering the grant period.
#7 A certified copy of the applicant's university graduation certificate, and a document testifying to the applicant's academic records in the entire course of study issued by the university concerned. (Both documents should be in English.)
#8 A letter with signature by the host scientist and/or head of host institution confirming the period of stay and the availability of research facilities and materials. (the format is free. E-mail copy is not accepted.)
7. SCREENING AND NOTIFICATION OF RESULT OF AN APPLICATION
Applications are examined by the Screening Committee of the Foundation on the basis of academic value and the degree or perfection of the research projects.
It generally takes several months to complete examination of applications, after which the results will be sent directly to the applicants by the end of December, 2006.
The Foundation will send a Grant Letter to successful applicants.
The Foundation does not issue announcements concerning the progress of applications under examination, nor will the Foundation respond to inquiries concerning the status of such applications.
When the decisions of the Screening Committee are announced, the Foundation will neither announce the reasons for the decision nor respond to individual concerning those reasons.
8. FELLOWSHIP DETAILS
The following financial support is provided to successful applicants for research stay in Japan. No support to his/her family or dependents is available.
Stipend for research and stay:
..........200,000 yen is provided monthly for the purpose of payment of tuition, expenses for research materials, meals, transportation, etc.
Insurance:
..........(1) Personal accident insurance with death benefit and medical treatment, and (2) Sickness insurance with death benefit and medical treatment.
Air transportation:
..........An economy-class round-trip air ticket is provided between the airport nearest the Fellow's home residence and Tokyo via most direct routing. (Except for persons whose transportation is provided by another organization. )The provided air ticket cannot be converted to cash, nor can cash be provided by the Foundation for purchase of an air ticket by any individual or organization other than the Foundation.
Lump sum on arrival:
..........300,000 yen is provided to assist with the cost of lodging, local travel expenses, etc. (Except for persons whose transportation is provided by another organization.)
The above fellowships are provided for successful applicants only, and intended for necessary living expenses and research activities in Japan. Under no circumstances is any part of the fellowships transferable to any other persons or other items.
9. WITHDRAWAL OF FELLOWSHIP
In the event that any of the offenses described below is ascertained, the Matsumae International Foundation reserves the right to terminate its grant, rescind the fellowship Status of the offender, and immediately inform all concerned parties (immigration authorities, host institution, etc.) of the situation.
(1) Facts which are inconsistent with the rules and regulations set forth in the Fellowship announcement, the grant letter, and/or related documents.
(2) False statements or unilateral modification of statements in application forms, the grant letter, and/or related documents.
(3) Failure of the recipient to notify the Foundation of past, current or anticipated grants or benefits from other institutions which duplicate in whole or in part those of the Matsumae International Foundation.
2.@In the event a successful applicant is unable to complete fellowship stay in Japan during the period of April 1, 2007 through March 31, 2008, due to circumstances with which the Foundation is not concerned, the grant validity will automatically expire.
EXAMPLES:
(1) Should the recipient fail to notify the Foundation of past stay and study in Japan under a fellowship grant from another institution, and the Foundation learns of that fact after his/her arrival in Japan, the Fellowship will be immediately rescinded.
(2) Should the recipient fail to notify the Foundation that he/she has accepted a grant from another institution, and the Foundation learns of the fact after his/her arrival in Japan, the Fellowship will be immediately rescinded.
(3) In the event that the recipient notifies the Foundation of his/her acceptance of a grant from another institution, the Foundation will carefully examine the content of that grant and reserves the right to withdraw its Fellowship.
(4) Should the recipient, after the host institution has formally been fixed, change it without prior consultation with the original host institution and the Foundation, the Fellowship may be rescinded.
(5) Should the recipient change the period of stay in Japan, the Fellowship will be rescinded.
(6) Should the recipient misrepresent his/her conversational ability in English or Japanese and, for that reason, be refused by his/her host scientist after his/her arrival in Japan, the Fellowship will be immediately rescinded.

CfP: Romanian Journal of European Studies - issue on migration
Dear friends,
Next month, on 20th of February, the European Commission will launch in Brussels the European Year of Workers' Mobility 2006. For this event, we prepare a special issue of our Romanian Journal of European Studies, the scientific review edited since 2002 by SISEC and the British Council in Romania. This special issue will be dedicated
to "Migration and Labour Mobility" (labour migration, economic migration, freedom of movement, freedom of establishment, European law, etc) within the CEE and EU area. One of your paper on migration and mobility is welcomed!
I would like to invite you to submit, as soon as possible, one of your recent studies to our scientific review. If you wish, we can put a version of an updated report paper or some other unpublished new paper. You will keep the copyright, with the sole obligation of citing the version from our Journal.

Please have in attention the fact that we will launch soon the call for papers for two international events to be organised in Timisoara with the regard of migration and mobility (www.migratie.ro). The events will be held on 1 - 3 and 4 - 5 of May 2006, put this date in your agenda, please! In the same time, we intend to prepare for September the first issue of a scientific review dedicated to migration and mobility at the Eastern border of the European Union, to be seen at www.migration.ro (we would like to launch it on December 18, the Migrant Day). More news, soon...
