Cu multa bucurie te invitam la cea de-a doua editie a Watumi Festival & Fringe. Fie ca esti muzician, artist plastic, actor, dansator, fotograf, desenator, designer sau regizor de film ai sansa, si in aceasta vara, sa fii vazut si apreciat. Fie ca esti debutant sau consacrat, Watumi Festival & Fringe reprezinta o oportunitate prin care poti sa-ti faci cunoscut mesajul. Pentru ca noi ti-am pregatit un spatiu de expunere, un loc in care produsul creativitatii tale este apreciat si promovat.

Watumi Festival & Fringe este primul festival care a introdus anul trecut notiunea de Fringe in Romania si care promoveaza toate formele de manifestare artistica. Inainte de a fi orice altceva, Fringe este o stare de spirit. La inceput a fost indrazneala teribila a opt trupe de actori, care au schimbat regulile jocului la celebrul si elitistul Festival International de Teatru de la Edinburgh, urcand pe scena fara sa fi fost invitate. Asta s-a intamplat in 1947. Atunci s-a nascut conceptul de
festival Fringe, adica un festival deschis, care permite oricarui artist sa se exprime. Prin Watumi Festival & Fringe dorim sa cream o platforma cat mai flexibila de interactiune a publicului larg cu arta.

Brasov este orasul care va gazdui si a doua editie a Watumi Festival & Fringe. Pentru ca o cura de arta autentica merge intodeauna bine cu o gura de aer curat in mijlocul verii. Programat in prima jumatate a lunii iulie Watumi are ca obiectiv transformarea spatiului public intr-o imensa scena artistica acoperind urmatoarele sectiuni:
- Teatru si Teatru de strada (desfasurat atat in locatii clasice, cat si in locuri neconventionale sau spatii deschise)
- Muzica
- Film (scurt metraj, documentar si animatie)
- Arte vizuale (pictura, fotografie, instalatii, ilustratie, banda desenata etc)
- Arta urbana
- Design de obiect & Handmade
- Arta pentru copii

Pe langa spectacole si expozitii ce pot fi inscrise in categoriile listate mai sus, asteptam propuneri pentru ateliere artistice si activitati interactive, pentru petrecerile "Watumi Nights" si pentru Parada artistilor desfasurata in prima zi a evenimentului. Organizatorul festivalului, Asociatia pentru Sustinerea si Promovarea Artistilor (ASPA) te asteapta sa vii cu tot curajul si libertatea ta de exprimare.

Festival international de film Gorišnica, Slovenia [DL: 15 apr]

O scoala primara din Slovenia organizeaza un festival de scurt-metraje la care sunt invitati sa participe copii si tineri (pana in 18 ani) din toata Europa.

Filmele nu trebuie sa depaseasca 10 minute si se pot incadra in trei categorii: filme etnologice si etnografice, scurt-metraje si documentare turistice.

Data limita pentru trimiterea filmelor in format DVD este: 15 aprilie 2010

Festivalul va avea loc in luna mai 2010.

MIRfestival welcomes experimental and adventurous creation at the meeting point of arts: performing arts / live media / image. It enables meeting between artists of different provenance and between artists and the audience. It is a place where artists share their vision of the world and of the reality with audiences ready to make a shift, to question their views, to be propelled to new horizons and to see new realities emerge.

MIRfestival presents innovative, experimental artistic projects.
You are welcome to submit:

* performance and small scale dance or theatre performances, researching on the co-existence of the performer’s presence, image and media
* live media projects, electronica and image projects
* urban projects and interventions in the city
* installations, video-installations, or other visual arts projects, including interactive ones
* experimental film and video in which the emphasis is not on verbal narration, but on image, movement and the language of the camera.

MIRfestival is not thematic. However, for its 2010 edition, it is searching for projects and actions intervening to Athens squares, under the general title HERE/ NOW.
Your proposals on this subject can be actions of different types (performance, actions, happenings, lighting or sound interventions, or other). We are looking forward to receiving your proposals!

After the selection procedure, some of your projects will be part of the programme of MIRfestival 2010.

*Arta Culinara din Literatura in Farfurie*

Fundatia "Noi Citim" va invita la evenimentul "Cartea in Bucate - Arta Culinara din Literatura in Farfurie", targ cu vanzare de carte, delicatese si ateliere culinare, desfasurat in zilele de 14-15 noiembrie 2009, intre orele 10:00-18:00, la Clubul Taranului.

Targul este organizat cu ocazia festivalului "Zilele Cartii Europene", desfasurat simultan in mai multe capitale europene, anul acesta avand ca tema "Europa Gurmanda". Cu aceasta ocazie, Fundatia "Noi Citim" isi pofeste cititorii gurmanzi de toate varstele la Clubul Taranului, din incinta Muzeului Taranului Roman.

Pe langa standurile permanente cu carti si cele cu bunatati ce isi vor astepta degustatorii, "Noi Citim" propune un program interactiv cu discutii despre semnificatiile hranei, despre importanta alimentatiei sanatoase, dar si aplicatii mai neobisnuite ale mancarii: sculpturi sau bijuterii lucrate manual din elemente alimentare. Astfel, evenimentul va reuni la un loc atat artisti, scriitori, cat si etnologi, specialisti in arta culinara, dar si initiati in secretele alimentatiei in armonie cu natura.

Printre momentele speciale ale evenimentului se numara:

Tricky Women

Since 2001 it has been held in Vienna each March.is the first and only festival of animated film that is dedicated exclusively to animation by women.

Tricky Women Award of the City of Vienna worth 4000 Euro Synchro Film & Video Material Prize worth 1,500 Euro

3-month scholarship in the artist-in-residence programme of quartier21/MQ Hubert

Sielecki Award worth 500 Euro (for Austrian animation)

Audience Award/Awards: Awards and prize monies will go to the directresses of the films.

The festival offers an international competition of animated short films realised by female artists and produced in 2008 or 2009. Each filmmaker, producer or distributor may submit as many films as they like. Each film submitted must be accompanied by an entry form and sent on a separate tape or reel. No films entered in prior Tricky Women Festivals shall be admitted. The deadline for applications for the preliminary selection is October 30, 2009. One application form must be filled in completely (2 pages!) for every competition entry. Applicants must enclose documentation material (at least two film stills as jpeg 300dpi and biographical information on the
directress and details of her filmmaking history - CD-Rom welcome). The selection committee shall refuse any entries that fail to comply with these conditions. For every film to be presented at the preliminary selection a clearly marked DVD must be sent in together with an application form. The DVD must CLEARLY show the name and the address of the directress as well as the running time of the production. Each DVD shall contain one work only. Applicants should enclose an English version of any non-English text, dialogue or commentary contained in the film. Films to be screened at the festival must be in 35 mm, 16 mm or Beta SP PAL and should be in master quality. Other projection formats won’t be accepted! The screening copy must arrive no later than February 1, 2010 at the festival office (Tricky Women, culture2culture, quartier21/MQ, Museumsplatz 1, 1070 Vienna, Austria). Film/video copies from abroad must bear the label “temporary import – for cultural purposes only – no trade value� on the package. Dispatches from non-EU states must contain a pro-forma invoice (amounting to a maximum of 20 euro).

The costs of transport (to the festival) as well as customs duties, etc. are the sole responsibility of the sender. DVD or VHS videos for selection will not be returned and will become part of the non commercial archive of the festival organization culture2culture. The festival organization will cover the costs of returning the screening
copies.

During the festival the productions are insured for their print value. The insurance is valid from the time of postal receipt of the film until it is sent back

Event, Astra Film Festival 2009, 26.10-1.11.2009

ASTRA FILM FESTIVAL is the place to see great documentaries, meet fellow-filmmakers from around the world, debate upon major issues faced by documentarists while exposing real life and real people on the big screen, and interact with professionals and an enthusiastic audience.

The Festival is located in Sibiu, Romania. Asociatia A.R.T. Fusion organizeaza intre 16-18 iulie 2009 Biblioteca Vie – Living Library in cadrul festivalului Ia ARTITUDINE! In acest sens, cautam participanti la Biblioteca Vie din cadrul organizatiilor care lucreaza cu voluntari din grupuri vulnerabile la situatii de discriminare sau care se confrunta cu situatii de discriminare. Organizatiile au oportunitatea de a isi promova propria activitate dar
si problematica diversitatii careia i se adreseaza.

Festivalul Ia ARTITUDINE! este parte a proiectului Make it real as you want it! organizat de voluntari din Spania, Letonia, Polonia, Turcia si Romania. In cadrul festivalului, Asociatia A.R.T. Fusion organizeaza cea de-a doua editie a "Living Library" sau "BIBILIOTECA VIE".

Festivalul cuprinde mai multe workshop-uri in care poti sa iti creezi propriile bijuterii, poti sa intelegi experimentezi ritmuri de salsa, tango sau flamenco, sa inveti ca fotografiile pot vorbi, sa cunosti "carti in carne si oase". Va invitam in Biblioteca Vie sa cunoasteti povestile unor voluntari care va vor schimba modul de a privi lumea.

CARTE si CITITOR in cadrul unei biblioteci vii ?

Ce este Living Library/ Biblioteca vie?

Biblioteca vie functioneaza ca o biblioteca obisnuita- cititorii vin si imprumuta carti pentru o perioada limitata de timp . Dupa ce citesc cartile, le returneaza in biblioteca, si daca vor, pot sa mai imprumute o carte. Exista insa doua aspecte importante: CARTILE sunt FIINTE UMANE si intra intr-un dialog personal cu cititorul.

Cine sunt cartile?

Cartile din biblioteca vie sunt oameni reprezentand grupuri care se confrunta, sau se pot confrunta cu prejudecati sau stereotipuri ( de gen, varsta, educatie, meserie, etnie, rasa, religie etc) si care ar putea fi victime ale discriminarii sau excluderii sociale, sau pot fi oameni cu povesti care ar da cititorului o experienta unica de invatare legata de diversitate si de voluntariat, cele doua teme fiind abordate in cadrul Bibliotecii Vii. Cei care cred in voluntariat si valorile sale, care au voluntariat sau lucreaza cu voluntari pot fi carti in cadrul Bibliotecii Vii. Daca in organizatiile dumnevoastra lucrati cu beneficiari care ar putea oferi o experienta de invatare deosebita participantilor din cadrul festivalului nostru, va asteptam sa ne contactati pana in 9 iulie la datele de contact de mai jos.

Participarea unei CARTI din partea organizatiei va oferi tinerilor vizitatori ai bibliotecii o noua perspectiva asupra a ceea ce inseamna prejudecata, stereotipul, discriminarea, voluntariatul.

Scopul Bibliotecii vii?

Biblioteca Vie isi propune sa promoveze respectul pentru drepturile omului si demnitatea umana, sa atraga atentia asupra diversitatii in toate formele ei, sa stimuleze dialogul intre oameni. De ce acest dialog? Pentru ca de multe ori diferentele dintre oameni nu sunt valorificate ca fiind resurse, de cele mai multe ori aceste diferente duc la discriminare, suspiciune si respingere.

Cand se desfasoara Biblioteca Vie?

In cadrul festivalului Ia ARTITUDINE! in perioada 16-18 iulie 2009 pe terasa Teatrului National Bucuresti, La Motoare, de la orele 18.30 la 21.30

Ne-ar face o deosebita placere sa participe o CARTE din cadrul organizatei dvs. in cadrul Bibliotecii Vii in zilele de 16, 17 si 18 iulie 2009. Participarea poate avea loc pe parcursului tuturor zilelor sau numai in una sau doua zile dupa ora 18.30 pana la ora 21.30 ( in functie de programul dvs).

International Romani Art Festival at its third edition

Acest proiect multilateral urmareste sa ofere posibilitatea membrilor si reprezentantilor organizatiilor de copii si tineret sa-si impartaseasca opiniile pe teme privind tinerii si politica de tineret, printr-o serie de discutii, mese rotunde si alte activitati.

The second edition of the Photo Competition has been organized by L’Idea di Cleves and the FotoClub 99, an official FIAF circle (Italian Federation Photographic Associations).

The theme is the color “Red”: a red detail which captures the view. [the Red s the most striking color].

The winner of the last edition was Alessandro Calabrese with his geometric “Giorni a perdere”

The jurymen will be Piero Cocco, Danilo Balducci, Marcello Pezzuti, Laura Rosica e Alessandro Fiorenzani.

The best photos will be exhibited in Palazzetto dei Nobili, an historical building in L’Aquila .

L’Idea di Cleves is attending to a project, patronized by the Province administration of L’Aquila . Our aim is to create a movie archive containing the tv reports of Gio’ Kappa (Giuseppe Massari), a wellknown Aquilan journalist who passed away in 2002 at the age of 45.

La prima edizione ha visto partecipare autori da tutti i continenti, con la vittoria finale nella sezione più prestigiosa dello statunitense Chris Bessounian con il suo “The Kollaborator”, ex aequo con l’intimista “Sophie” della danese Birgitte Staermose, girato secondo le regole del Dogma.

In questa edizione “L’Idea di Cleves” ha reclutato tra le sue fila il produttore e regista Gianluca Arcopinto, al quale ha affidato l’incarico di direttore artistico del Festival.

2o Concorso-Mostra Fotografica Internazionale “In chiave di Rosso”

Dopo il riuscito esordio con il tema “L’emozione in un volto”, si rinnova il concorso fotografico de “L’Idea di Cleves”, questa volta con un tema apparentemente più ampio: il dettaglio Rosso, il risalto del coloro più appariscente, forte e immediato.

Anche quest’anno il concorso è organizzato in collaborazione con il FotoClub 99 dell’Aquila, circolo affiliato FIAF (Federazione Italiana Associazioni Fotografiche).

L’anno passato a vincere è stato un italiano, Alessandro Calabrese con il suo geometrico “Giorni a perdere”

La giuria tecnica (confermatissima) sarà composta per il 2008 da Piero Cocco, Danilo Balducci, Marcello Pezzuti, Laura Rosica e Alessandro Fiorenzani.

Il concorso sarà seguito da una mostra delle migliori opere presso lo storico Palazzotto dei Nobili dell’Aquila.

Archivio e Premio Giornalistico intitolati alla memoria di Giuseppe Massari, Gio’ Kappa



E’ in preparazione un progetto per recuperare le opere video-giornalistiche del rimpianto Giuseppe Massari, meglio noto nella provincia aquilana con lo pseudonimo di Gio’ Kappa.

In collaborazione con la Biblioteca Provinciale dell’Aquila si vuole catalogare e rimasterizzare tutti i filmati video che il giornalista aquilano dedicò alla sua gente e alla sua città.

Al termine del primo anno di catalogazione verrà presentato alla città il lavoro fino a quel momento svolto proprio in occasione della seconda edizione del Premio Giornalistico intitolato proprio alla memoria di Giuseppe Massari.

Street Art Festival in Istanbul, 29-30-31 August

Dear Friends,

Hangar Art Association will organise the second Festival "On the Street" (Sokakta Senlik 2) in Istanbul on 29-30-31 August 2008.

Streets and squares of Beyoglu, Tunel and Galata Tower in Istanbul will be filled with everybody’s art. Any kind of performance is welcome.

Artists are expected to cover their own travel expenses. Board and accommodation will be provided during the festival days. Accommodation will be in limited conditions due to our availability.

You can find the information and application form in the attachment.

Please send your applications to info@hangar.org.tr until 31 July 2008. Late applications will not be considered for space allocation in the festival areas and for the festival leaflet. However, you can still perform within the festival as far as you find time and space that is not already dedicated to another performance.

International Romani Art Festival - editia a II-a, MISTO, 6-10 august 2008

Asociatia Culturala TURN te provoaca in perioada 6-10 august la Timisoara in incinta Cinematografului de Vara (Spatele Filarmoinicii Banatul) la a doua portie de interculturalitate. Cea de a doua editie International Romani Art Festival – "Misto", organizat sub egida Anului European al Dialogului Inercultural isi deschide portile.

La fel ca si anul trecut, IRAF iti aduce muzica, dans, teatru, film, fotografie, workshopuri si spectacol de foc, lansare de carte, targ de mestesugari, actiuni informative, actiuni pentru copii, actiuni pentru persoanele private de libertate in cadrul unui eveniment care reuneste peste 150 de artisti romi si neromi din: Romania, Spania, Ungaria, Franta, Serbia, Cehia. Mai mult, anul acesta Nude te imbraca MISTO cu o colectie de 25 de outfituri, iar bucatarii maghiari iti vor aduce pe tava o portie de gulas tiganesc.

Cele 15 concerte vin sa prezinta fenomenul muzical al culturii rome de la traditie pana la ultimul trend mondial - batai in linguri, ritmuri de beat box, hip-hop, drum and bass, jazz, fanfare, muzica clasica, flamenco.

Boban Markovitz; (Serbia), recunoscut si apreciat ca cel mai bun trompetist din Balcani, Puerto Flamenco (Spania), castigatori de premii ai participanti la cele mai importante festivaluri de flamenco din lume, Félix Lajkó (Ungaria), un artist deosebit de complex din Ungaria, Kal (Serbia), cea mai tare formatie roma din suburbiile Belgradului, Karavan Familia (Ungaria), una dintre cele mai importante
nume pe scena gypsy world music, Marius Mihalache, „stapanul tambalului" si Ovidiu Lipan Tandarica, "cel mai bun baterist roman al tuturor timpurilor" ( Romania), Amaro Del (Serbia), Balkan Fanatic (Ungaria) , un proiect original care injecteaza synth-pop, hip-hop, si muzica electronica contemporana in sound-ul traditional est-european, Gipsy.cz (Cehia) singura formatie de hip hop recunsocuta la nivel mondial, DJ Click (Franta) cu un sound autentic ce imbina balcanismul cu muzica electronica, Estelle Goldfarb (Franta) , violonista care rupe barierele intre muzica traditionala si cea moderna., DJ Vasile (Shukar Collective) unul dintre cei care au pus bazele muzicii electronice din Romanaia, Dj Leizaboy (Romania), Dj K-lu (Romania), Colombo de Niro (Romania), cel mai nou proiect muzical de jazz din Timisoara.

Four rather haggard actors have been playing Ionesco's 'The Bald Soprano' for 25 years. They are no longer able to escape from this absurd play, which is not really a play at all, but an anti-play. Caught up in this non-theatre, they have missed their careers as actors and have never begun lives as normal people. They survive in the phrases of the protagonists. Not being authentic in any way, they seem very familiar to us.

It is a cacophonous symphony of plots, texts and music, without coherence, without the least meaning.

In fact, there are too many meanings for our liking.

We are overwhelmed by every deed that the actor-creatures administer on stage - every word hits the mark - a pantomimic massacre of words.

Four actors, a mysterious sound machine and a well hidden video camera are the ingredients of this critical mix composed by Theaterlabor in this, its 25th year.

Since 1983 Theaterlabor exists in its current form. In these 24 years the good cooperation of artistic direction and the strong ensemble has created a powerful and artistic community which keeps experimental theatre alive and which has developed a unique theatre-language. Beside performance "Absurdesque" , recent Theaterlabor' s performances are "Double" (2006), cooperation with Ismael Ivo and "Winterreise" (2007), a musical performance realised in cooperation with Yoshi Oida. Theaterlabor is also well known for its impressive out door spectacles and big historical performances, organisation of international theatre festival 360° in its own space and pedagogy work.

"The Wizard or Harmonic Cacophony", it is an attempt of transforming time into space with the help of sound. It is an attempt of creating of sound synthesis in the consciousness of actors on the stage, synthesis between vocal activity which produces sound(text, song), musical tone which produces sound, their gradation through time and intention of each performer individually for some kind of musical, sound result. It is an attempt of composing of theatre, an attempt to make scenic, theatre elements in function of orchestration of cacophony and to make spectator's perception moved from rational into out-of-time, spatial sphere.

The performance is based on a famous fairy tale written by L. Frank Baum, "The wizard of Oz", and texts of F. M. Dostoevsky, Virginia Woolf, Hermann Hesse, Oscar Wilde and Marina Cvetaeva. Actors' materials and music materials from different performances of Plavo pozoriste between 1995 and 2006 have been used in this performance.

Festivalul International al Producatorilor de Film Independenti

Buna seara,

Va rog gasiti atasat comunicatul de presa referitor la cea de-a 3-a editie a Festivalului International al Producatorilor de Film Independenti - IPIFF 2008 ce se va desfasura la Constanta - Mamaia intre 14-20 iulie 2008.

Editia din acest an va rezerva o multime de suprize cinematografice si nu numai.

Detalii despre ele, in conferinta de presa ce va avea loc miercuri 25 iunie 2008, ora 11,00 la sediul Centrului National al Cinematografiei (Str. Dem I. Dobrescu, nr 4-6, Sector 1).

Acreditarile pentru Festival se vor face dupa conferinta de presa, pe baza legitimatiei de jurnalist si a articolelor scrise de dvs. despre editia precedenta.

Prima editie a Festivalului Online de Arte [DL: 20 sep]

Reteaua Euro-Med a Tinerilor Artisti lanseaza un apel de participare la prima editie a Festivalului Online de Arte, ce va avea loc in octombrie 2008. Festivalul este deschis tinerilor artisti (cu varste intre 15 si 30 de ani), care traiesc intr-una din tarile Euro-Med, si vizeaza toate domeniile artei ce pot fi publicate pe web. Scopul acestui festival este de a promova utilizarea, in randul tinerilor, a instrumentelor internet in domeniul artelor.

Vino la "Zilele Marketingului 2008" (editia a 3-a) Cluj-Napoca

Stranger Festival - 1st Edition, 3-4 July 2008, Westergasfabriek, Amsterdam

Live in Europe? Are you between 15-25?

Make a video of who you are, where you are, and what you are into. Make it personal, dynamic, to the point and real.

Videos should be exactly 1 minute and maximum 5 minutes. It can be noisy, silent, confrontational, intimate, sad or hilarious. What counts is that it’s your voice, your unique perspective on something that matters to you.

But don't wait too long, entires close 1 May 2008!

The creators of the most appreciated videos will be invited to the festival in July and can win a Stranger Award as well as prizes like ipods, camcorders and laptops. A selection of the finest videos will be shown on TV and in museums across Europe.
