Graduate position: UVictoria.2. EvolEcol

Two Graduate Positions in Evolutionary Ecology I seek 2 graduate students and to participate in either

1. The dynamic consequences of inducible defenses using the ciliate Euplotes as a model system.

2. The evolution and ecology of sex-ratio variation in the splash-zone copepod Tigriopus. Successful candidates will have a strong quantitative approach with a flair for experimentation or theory.

Basic molecular skills will be an asset but not essential. The lab has a tradition of internal cooperation and ongoing international collaborations. Interested candidates should provide a cover letter, CV, and contact information for two referees by e-mail to banholt@uvic. ca.

I will be available to meet with potential students while attending the Yodzis Symposium in Guelph May 15, the Canadian Society of Ecology and evolution meetings in Toronto May 18-20, and the European Society of Evolutionary Biology meetings in Uppsala Aug 20-26.
