Topics of the five PhD-projects are:
Facilitating drug development, creating the 'ideal' regulatory environment in the context of priority medicines (Escher project 1.2)
Is the regulatory environment keeping up with the challenges of biotech? (Escher project 1.3)
Challenges and improved access and reimbursement trajectories and beyond (Escher project 1.5)
Restoring societal trust in drug development, regulation and marketing of new drugs (Escher project 1.6)
Innovation in the design of research on efficacy and safety of new drugs (Escher project 2.1)

Requirements

Required education/skills: University Graduate
You should have an MD, PharmD or degree in biomedical sciences or related field. For project 2.1, training in epidemiology is appreciated. Motivation to work in cutting edge drug development research is a prerequisite.

The Top Institute Pharma www.tipharma. com is a collaboration of industrial and academic research teams. One prominent project of TI Pharma is Escher. The Escher programme's primary intention is to improve the scientific quality and efficiency of late phase drug research.

The partners in the Escher programme are top quality research institutions and top pharmaceutical companies: University Medical Center in Utrecht, University Medical Center in Groningen, Erasmus University in Rotterdam, Utrecht Institute of Pharmaceutical Sciences, Organon, GSK, Winap, Amgen and MSD. A total of 16 PhD fellows will work in the Escher programme.

Within the Escher programme we are currently seeking 5 PhD-researchers at the Utrecht Institute of Pharmaceutical Sciences

Conditions of employment

Estimated maximum salary per month: eur 2500 - 3000

Maximum salary amount in Euro's a month 2502
Employment basis: Temporary for specified period
Duration of the contract: 1 - 4 years
Maximum hours per week: 38
Additional conditions of employment:
We offer a temporary full time appointment as a PhD student of one year with the perspective of prolongation with another three years. You will be appointed at the Department of Pharmacoepidemiolog y and Pharmacotherapy of Utrecht University and will closely cooperate with the teams and people from other institutions.

The salary will range from € 1,956. - (first year), up to a maximum of € 2,502.- (final year) gross per month (salary scale "P" Collective Employment Agreement of the Dutch Universities) .
