180 PhD Studentships & Bursaries at Univ. of Exeter, UK

The University of Exeter is consistently ranked amongst the best UK universities in the league tables and was voted Times Higher University of the Year 2007/08. Research is at the heart of everything we do. In the 2008 Research Assessment Exercise, all our subjects were assessed as including world-leading (4*) research and nearly 90 per cent of our research was rated as being internationally recognised.

This is an exciting time to join Exeter. Our recent successes have attracted truly world-class scholars and we have made 182 new academic appointments in the last two years, including 38 new professors. Our ambition continues into the future with a planned £450 million investment in campus facilities, and an £80 million planned investment in science, medicine and engineering.

Exeter provides a highly supportive environment in which to pursue Doctoral studies. Our Effective Researcher Development Programme meets and exceeds the Research Councils' requirements and we have an excellent track record of PhD completion.

As part of our continued commitment to research we are offering 100 PhD Studentships* and 80 PhD Bursaries for 2009 entry. The awards are offered full-time, however it may also be possible to study part-time with prior agreement from the Academic School.
