Description:
One postdoctoral position is available in the lab of Jeffrey G. Jacot, Ph.D. for the study of Pediatric Cardiac Tissue Engineering. The position will concentrate on projects related to the use of biomechanics to influence stem cell differentiation into cardiac cells and the design and evaluation of tissue engineered ventricular tissue for use in repair of congenital heart defects. This laboratory, located in Texas Children's Hospital in Houston, Texas, is affiliated with both the Department of Surgery at Baylor College of Medicine and the Department of Bioengineering at Rice University.

This unique environment fosters collaboration with congenital heart surgeons and
bioengineers and allows for research with both clinical and laboratory aspects. More laboratory information is available at http://jacotlab.rice.edu.

Qualifications:
Qualified individuals should have a Ph.D. in Bioengineering/ Biomedical Engineering or a related field. Laboratory experience in stem cell or cardiomyocyte culture, cardiac electrophysiology or tissue engineering is a plus.
