Babson College is offering three new programs for outstanding high school students starting this summer of 2011:

- Babson Idea Generation (BIG) Program
- Babson Entrepreneur Development Experience

These two seven-week, residential programs taking place from July 5 to August 19 will give students the opportunity to focus on entrepreneurial or social ventures. Targeted at high-achieving students entering their junior or senior year, each of these courses is taught by our
top-ranked, full-time faculty in a challenging, campus environment. Students can earn four college credits at Babson and beyond and also may opt to take a second, 3-credit class within our curriculum.

- Service Learning Experience

Students entering their sophomore year may participate in this one-week, non-residential experience from June 27 to July 1. This program focused on social outreach does not provide college credit.

This is a great opportunity for your students to differentiate themselves from their peers in college applications and have the opportunity to build their network in meeting with business leaders and industry experts, all while exploring the cities of Boston and Wellesley.

GWU Intellectual Property Summer Program in Munich

As a complement to its leading intellectual property program in Washington, DC, GW Law offers a four-week intellectual property law program in Munich, Germany, a vibrant city less than an hour from the Alps, known as Europe's "Intellectual Property Capital." In the summer of 2010, the program will run from June 28 to July 24. The ABA-accredited program offers eight one-credit courses of which students
can choose up to four, as well as special lectures and visits to local IP institutions such as the European Patent Office. In 2009, 21 students (including students from GW, other US ABA approved law schools, and students at foreign law schools) participated in the program. The eight courses offered were also open to LL.M. students at the Munich Intellectual Property Law Center. This year the GW Law School will again offer eight one-credit courses and will look to enroll a diverse
body of students as in years past.

Applicants in countries (such as the United States) in which law is studied at the graduate level must have completed at least one full year of full- or part-time study at an accredited law school at the time the program begins. Applicants in countries (such as Germany) in which law is studied at the university level must have completed at least two years of legal education at an institution recognized as capable of
conferring degrees which fulfill a necessary condition for the graduates to practice law in the country of the institution. While we anticipate that the majority of students in the program will be law students at U.S. law schools, applications are welcomed from eligible applicants from throughout the world.

This program is conducted entirely in English. Students whose native language is not English and who have not studied for at least two years at a university in which the principal language of instruction is English must demonstrate their competency in English by submitting proof of a computer-based TOEFL score of at least 250, a Cambridge CPE score of at least 60, or a IELTS score of at least 6.0.

Tuition for the program is $1650 for each two-week session, or $3300 for the full four-week program. **Cancellation and Refunds*
GW does not anticipate canceling the program. However, if it becomes necessary due to world events, gross under enrollment (fewer than 20 students), or other circumstances to cancel or significantly change the program, all applicants and/or admitted students will be promptly notified and provided a full refund of all monies paid within 20 days of the date of cancellation or significant change. Students will be given an opportunity to withdraw from the program with a full refund of all monies paid if the U.S. State Department ever declares the program site to be an "Area of Instability" or if a U.S. State Department Travel Warning is ever issued for Germany. For a cancellation that occurs after a deposit has been paid, we will use our best efforts to make arrangements for each student enrolled to attend a similar program, if the student so desires.

The primary purpose of the summer program in applied econometrics is to provide students, researchers and faculty with state of the art econometric methods for
analyzing data in the Social Sciences. Each day of the week-long course consists of morning lectures that develop the basic concepts and philosophy as well as their
applications to real economic problems and data. Each afternoon, these methods will be applied and practiced in the computer lab. These daily tutorials and work in the
computer lab provide students with 'hands on' experience in using these methods with real data.

TARGET GROUP AND REQUIREMENTS:

Each course in the program is open to students who have completed at least a year of econometrics at the Ph.D. level, to professional economists, researchers and
econometricians who work in government agencies, non-governmental organizations and in the private market.

CLASS MATERIALS:

The text for each class will be announced prior to the class and will include a text book and/or a reader consisting of a collection of papers.

DAILY SCHEDULE:

The American University in Bulgaria invites high school and college students 15-20 years of age to a non-credit Summer Program on Bulgarian Language, Culture, and History (BLCH) in the town of Blagoevgrad, Bulgaria.

The program includes Bulgarian language instruction at three levels, Bulgarian literature and history classes, workshops on culture and traditions, and teacher accompanied field trips to sites of historical and cultural interest. Sports, crafts, folklore dances, movie nights, cooking, and other activities make the program intensive and entertaining. The field trips will take the students to exciting destinations such as Melnik, the smallest town in Bulgaria; the Rila Monastery, included in the UNESCO World Heritage sites; Kazanlak, situated in the Valley of Roses and the Thracian kings; Veliko Turnovo, the capital of the Second Bulgarian Kingdom, and Sofia, the capital of Bulgaria.

The BLCH Summer Program is designed in such a way that students who do not speak Bulgarian and/or have never been to the country can easily learn some basics of the language and get a first-hand experience of Bulgarian language, culture, traditions, and nature. Students who speak Bulgarian at an intermediate or higher level will improve their writing, reading, and conversational skills while gaining additional knowledge or filling some gaps in their knowledge of Bulgarian history and culture.

The Graduate Institute of International and Development Studies in Geneva is pleased to announce the fourth session of Summer Programmes to be held from June 7 to July 9, 2010.

The 2010 schedule & topics will be the following one:

The Summer Programme on International Affairs and Multilateral Governance (June 7 to June 25, 2010) explores key issues in international affairs with a substantive focus on the three following concentrations:
> Week 1: Global Public Goods: Health and Environment
> Week 2: Security, Human Rights and Humanitarian Actions
> Week 3: Global Migration, Cooperation and Development

The Summer Programme on the WTO, International Trade and Development (June 28 to July 9, 2010) explores key issues in international trade with focus on the following areas:
> Week 1: Core Features and Current Issues of the World Trading System
> Week 2: Development & Trade in Manufactures, Agriculture and Services


Who?
The programmes are targeted to young professionals seeking to improve their knowledge of current issues in international affairs or trade policy, and to students at the senior graduate level. Participation in the programme includes lectures each morning and visits, workshops and case studies in the afternoons. Drawing on the interdisciplinary culture of the institute, the programmes integrate points of view from economic, political, legal and historical aspects of the issues examined, and seek to bring together a diverse participant body with varied backgrounds.

USA: Summer Scholars Pre-College Programs at George Washington University

"GW Summer Scholars encourages high school students to discover and develop their talents through unique learning experiences guided by engaging faculty at The George Washington University. Choose the 6-week program for college credit or the compressed
10-day mini-courses to investigate a topic of interest. Both programs provide an exceptional opportunity for international students and US citizens living abroad to experience GW and discover Washington, D.C.

The 6-week program is open to students finishing their junior year in high school. Students enroll in an introductory college level course with GW undergraduates, as well as a writing seminar. Outside the classroom students participate in enrichment activities such as seminars and workshops that deepen their understanding of the collegiate setting and Washington, D.C. The 6-week program application deadline for US Citizens is April 15, 2009. The deadline for international students is March 1, 2009. International students who are accepted into the 6-week program will receive an I-20 letter for applying for an F-1 visa.

The 10-day mini-courses create an intensive hands-on experience for students
completing grades 9 – 11. Highly interactive seminars and daily field trips provide a balance of academic rigor and fun for the students who are interested in exploring a particular field. This year’s mini-courses are: Biomedical Engineering, Photojournalism, Election Politics, Environmental Studies, Museum Studies, US Foreign Policy, Interior Design, Law and Evidence, and Very Practical Politics. The mini-course application deadline for US citizens and international students is April 30, 2009.

The resources of Washington, D.C., are an integrated part of Summer Scholars’ academic learning. Students enjoy both an urban college experience at the Foggy Bottom campus as well as a residential environment at the Mount Vernon campus in northwestern DC. Although participation in Summer Scholars does not imply admission to GW, Summer Scholars gives students first-hand knowledge to assist them in making a future college decision.

Intensive Summer and Professional Programs

Summer at CELOP also means a great variety of programs to choose from.

Students can prepare for a successful MBA program by enrolling in Pre-MBA English, which uses many of the same learning methods as business school: case analysis, team projects, and oral presentations of management issues.

For the experienced manager, CELOP offers Business English for Professionals. In addition to improving presentation and negotiation skills, each student in this course will apply business concepts to his or her own professional world and develop a practice business plan.

Preparing for Law School? Legal English for LLM Students is a 6-week intensive English program developed in collaboration with the Boston University School of Law, and helps develop the language skills, legal knowledge, and confidence necessary to be successful in an American law school.

Already a lawyer? Legal English for Practitioners is co-taught by a CELOP English language teacher and a practicing attorney, and focuses on meeting the special law and language communication needs of international lawyers and law students.

English for Health and Medical Professionals develops the English language skills essential for success in the health and medical fields, and prepares students for study, work, or research in a U.S. health or medical program. This program includes visits to facilities such as BU’s Medical School, School of Public Health, and BioSquare Laboratory.

USA: Forte International School of Music and Language (ages 13-18)

The Forte International School of Music and Language

We are happy to announce an exciting new summer or winter program for youth (ages 13-18) to study intensive accent-free English and music, while having fun in the Rocky Mountains of Colorado. The Forte International School of Music and Language (www.forteamerica. com ) is part of Forte Academy of Music www.forteacademy. com), an established school of music in Centennial, Colorado.

We are limiting the number of students to 25 per session. Students will stay with families of our American students. They will be encouraged to speak only English. Music instruction also will be only in English. We have experience teaching music to students with very little English. The English instruction in the context of private music instruction has been very successful. Classes for intensive accent-free English instruction will be divided into groups depending on student’s English skill. The instruction will center around the activities students will encounter during their stay in America.

The music instruction will be geared to the student’s interest and ability. For example, if a student is a classical pianist and wishes to further their instruction, they can; however if they want to try playing jazz or a different instrument, that is also an option. The program is tailored for each student, from beginning to advance levels. Instruments taught are piano, violin, flute, saxophone, drums, and voice. The excursions and recreational activities can also be adapted for each student.

Students may book 2, 3, or 4 week program, with special pricing for our three week recommended program.

The safety and well-being of our students is our foremost concern. They will be strictly supervised. All of our faculty, staff and families have been thoroughly evaluated. We have a record of teaching over 5000 students without incident.

We also have a seminar on studying music at American Universities We encourage parents to travel with their children and they can have a vacation in the Mountains while their children our in the program. These arrangements can be made in their country or we could help.

SUMMER PEACEBUILDING PROGRAM: A rich multicultural learning community, where participants from 30-35 countries develop new skills for peacebuilding and new relationships with each other. Education takes place both in and outside the classroom as participants live and socialize together in structured and unstructured activities. The wide variety of regional, ethnic, and cultural background provides abundant possibilities for participants to deepen their proficiency in intercultural communication and peacemaking practices.

Topics of Study: Conflict analysis and interventions, inter-communal dialogue, negotiation and mediation, peacebuilding and development, healing and reconciliation, peace education, training skills, issues of global relations, and more.

The Participants: Human rights workers, non-profit and NGO middle and senior level managers, government employees, mental health professionals, educators, graduate students, etc.

Some of the participants who enroll in the Summer Peacebuilding Program choose to continue their studies.

GRADUATE CERTIFICATE IN CONFLICT TRANSFORMATION
After completing the summer program, participants engage in two semesters of web-based distance learning with courses on conflict analysis and conflict interventions, a mid-year field seminar held in Rwanda, and a 1-3 month practicum. The 14-16 credits earned in the Certificate can be applied further toward a Master Degree in Conflict Transformation or Intercultural Service, Leadership and Management.)
