PVN ALBANIA (www.pvnalbania. org) is organizing new camp in Albania.
Projekte Vullnetare Nderkombetare (PVN) is a non-profit organization that shares the same aims and values with Service Civil International (SCI). (www.sciint. org)
PVN is an organization that promotes peace through voluntary work und exchange of volunteers all over the world. Besides the cooperation with SCI, PVN fulfils the aim of its foundation by organising social, ecological and cultural activities and involving every one who wants the change and wants to be part of this change. Besides the common values with SCI, PVN is working especially to solve the problems of its country, like protecting the environment, integration of migrated communities from rural areas, of social disadvantages, and aware youth participation in solving the problems of our community.
Our Vision is a world in peace with clean environment and healthy society, where the Human Rights are respected.
Our Mission is: We are an organization that works for a healthy society in collaboration with different partners to encourage public awareness and its involvement into voluntary activities.
The camp will take place in Vora, a small city near Tirana, from 22/08/08-31. 08.08 We need 6 Volunteer from different country that have experienced children and have art skills. Person that are interested can contact their branch of SCI (www.sciint. org) in their country to apply to apply at PVN camp. Food and Accomodation is provided, volunteer has to pay the trip from their country in Albania.
The description of camp:
The work camp will take place in Vora, a city near Tirana. The aim of camp is to minimize the trauma of children after the explosion. The group consists of about 50 children with deep socio-economic problems aged between 8 and 15 years old. The work consist at daily activities and organizing the free time of the children: organize creative workshops, sports, concert, paint some classrooms of their school and other games. The volunteer will work 4 hour per day. Volunteers with local coordinators will be responsible for the whole program of the camp.

Who Is Eligible to Participate? : The Unite For Sight internship is open to individuals 18 years and older, and there is no upper age limit. Volunteers range from undergraduate students to medical students, public health students and professionals, nurses, physician's assistants, teachers and educators, Returned Peace Corps Volunteers, doctors, opticians, optometrists and ophthalmologists.
What Do Volunteers Do?: Volunteers receive hands-on clinical experience while assisting doctors in remote, rural villages. Volunteers learn about international health and eye care, learn clinical skills while working with patients and doctors, and, in one program location, have an opportunity to perform cataract surgery on a goat's eye.
The goal of Unite For Sight and its partner eye clinics and communities is to create eye disease-free communities. Unite For Sight’s volunteers (local and visiting) work with partner eye clinics to provide eye care in communities without previous access. The eye clinic’s eye doctors and Unite For Sight volunteers jointly provide community-based screening programs in rural villages. The clinic’s eye doctors diagnose and treat eye disease in the field, and surgical patients are brought to the eye clinic for surgery. Patients receive free surgery funded by Unite For Sight so that no patient remains blind due to lack of funds. Volunteers immediately see the joy on patients' faces when their sight is restored after years of blindness. These memories last a lifetime.
While helping the community, volunteers are in a position to witness and draw their own conclusions about the failures and inequities of global health systems. It broadens their view of what works, and what role they can have to insure a health system that works for everyone and that leaves no person blind in the future.

Volunteer camp in Salerno (Italy)
Interested in volunteering in Italy for 2 weeks in an international camp?

WHAT KIND OF WORK: cleaning and restoring walking paths, birdwatching, providing assistance
