CfP (extended deadline): Environmental Values, Attitudes, and Behaviors in Romania. A Puzzle of Empirical Findings

Compared to other contries (even from the CEE region) there are only a few contributions concerning the values, attitudes, and behaviors of Romanian citizens towards the environment. Informal discussions, conference-presentations, etc. suggest however that there certainly exists a group of scholars with clear research interests in the area of environmental psychology, sociology or politics, concretized in smaller or larger scale Romania-based empirical research. The aim of the present volume is to bring together and integrate some pieces of the Romanian research undertook in the last 5-10 years in connection with people – environment studies and thus to show out the fact that the field is rather invisible than inexistent.
As shown in the title, we are particularly interested in empirical research no matter qualitative or quantitative.

Our specific foci are:
- environmental values, attitudes, behaviors of the general public (either in throughouth Romania, or in particular regions, cities, towns, villages);
- environmental values, attitudes, behaviors of some specific public (central or local decision-makers, NGO-activists, etc.);
- case-studies of environmental initiatives (e.g. public-private partnerships, NGO initiated projects, etc.).

Scholars and practitioners who wish to participate are asked to send a short (1 page) outline of their manuscript until 30 December 2009 to the e-mails below. If proposals accepted, the deadline of manuscript-submission is 30 March 2009. The language of the papers is English. Accepted manuscripts will be published in a book at a Romanian publishing house.
