Call for papers: "The public consumption of knowledge"

Dear Colleagues,
The Knowledge Politics Quarterly Journal (http://www.knowledgepolitics.org.uk) invites paper submissions for the next journal edition addressing the theme "The public consumption of knowledge" are welcomed.
Knowledge Politics Quarterly Journal (KPQ) is an independent, multi-disciplinary academic journal founded in 2007, publishing original articles by established scholars, graduate students and non-academic practitioners. The topics covered by KPQ concern theory, policy and practice - including the media, the internet, broadcasting, technological development, and the social, political and economic
implications of new information and communication technology.
The next edition will focus on "the public consumption of knowledge". We are particularly interested in papers that address one or more of the following aspects:
= The role of the news media in generating political responses;
= The effect of media consumption on public knowledge;
= The moderating function of the public consumption of knowledge;
= The mediating function of public consumption knowledge in political communication research;
= Issues concerning freedom-of-informat ion law; or the quality of privacy in the media domain;
= Issues concerning the development of intellectual property law in the information society;
= The political implications of Business and E-commerce;
= Media Consumption and awareness of environmental issues;
= Social Scientific contribution to public knowledge;
= Change and Progress in the public€ ’²s knowledge of politics.
We welcome both empirical (qualitative and quantitative) as well as theoretical or normative contributions. Please submit articles between 3,000 and 10,000 words in length, inclusive of any footnotes and a bibliography, and a 200-word abstract, in Word format or as an .rtf file to the editors. Please also submit a short biographical note (no more than 300 words). Submissions to the KPQ journal can use either Harvard- or Oxford-style referencing.
The deadline for submitting papers is September, 15, 2009. Applicants will be notified about the decision of the editorial committee by December, 15, 2009.
Book reviews
We also welcome book reviews on the topic "the public consumption of knowledge". Articles must be between 1,000 and 3,000 words in length, inclusive of any footnotes and a bibliography. Authors should also submit a short biographical note (no more than 300 words) with their submission, in a Word document separate from the article.

Submitting Your Article
All submissions will be peer-reviewed by two members of the Editorial Board as selected by the Editorial Team. Authors are required to alter their articles on the basis of feedback received from the editor and reviewers, or justify to the editor why the proposed change has been rejected. Articles must be double-spaced throughout, and must use the font "Arial" or equivalent, size 12, justified text. Section headings should be lower-case and emboldened.
