CONFERENCE THEME

As its major theme, the conference will consider a range of questions for Indigenous people living in urban and semi-urban/regional areas.

The Conference provides an opportunity for a diverse range of people to discuss issues of relevance for today's urban Indigenous population, including community members and organizations, Traditional Owners, policy makers, service and industry providers, government agencies, consultants, academics and researchers.

TOURS, WORKSHOPS AND TRADE STALLS

The conference runs from Tuesday to Thursday, providing an opportunity for participants to hold workshops on the Monday and/or Friday. Workshops currently being considered include:

- tour of Indigenous cultural sites around the ACT, sponsored by the ACT Government. Monday pm and Friday am

- discussion / workshop on the revised Guidelines for Ethical Research in Indigenous Studies. A draft of the Guidelines will be available at the conference.

- researching urban histories

Trade stalls, exhibitions and poster displays are also invited.
