American Studies, Assistant or Associate Professor: The American Culture and Literature Department at Izmir University, Turkey, invites applications for an appointment beginning in September 28, 2009 at the rank of Assistant or Associate Professor. We are seeking a highly dedicated scholar-teacher who is ready to overcome potential challenges of a newly founded department of a two-year old university. Applicants are expected to be highly motivated, collegial individuals and teach courses, conduct research, and help develop curriculum in the program.
Ph.D. in American Studies or equivalent is required. Applicants are expected to be "learners" with established and significant record of scholarly achievement in research and teaching, be committed to intercultural and interdisciplinary teaching/learning, eager to seek and apply new approaches to teaching and scholarship, and ready to prepare students to face challenges in a world rapidly evolving in the age of knowledge.
