Envisioned research
The research is situated in the EDM participation to the new research program of the research department ‘Future Internet: Networks, Media and Services’ of the IBBT, the Flemish strategic ICT research centre (www.ibbt.be). EDM is the scientific lead of the area ‘visual computing’ within this program, planning research on 3D Internet. This includes research on the following topics: computer graphics, computer vision, networked virtual environments, … . The specific research subject of the PhD will be determined in consultation with the successful candidates.
Profile and diploma
Enthusiastic applicants with excellent study results are invited to apply. Successful applicants have a keen interest in one or more of the aforementioned research topics and can work both independently and in team.
Candidates should hold a master degree in computer science, a civil engineer degree in computer science or equivalent. Students, who will complete these studies during the summer, are also strongly invited to apply.
Job offer
We offer a challenging research position in EDM, one of the larger research institutes at UHasselt and a dynamic work environment hosting about 60 researchers and with state-of-the-art research labs.
The successful candidates will receive a scholarship for a first period of 2 years, which will be extended with another period of 2 years after a positive midterm review.
