The research group “Development and Disease” (Prof. Dr. Stefan Mundlos) at the Max Planck Institute for Molecular Genetics / Institute for Medical Genetics, Charité – Universitätsmedizin Berlin offers a position for a PhD-Student (BAT IIa/2)
The position is available from April 2007 until June 2009 (extension until December 2010 envisaged).
Our research focuses on the regulation of the Sonic hedgehog (Shh) signalling molecule during development and congenital malformations of the central nervous system. The project comprises the generation and developmental analysis of a conditional knock-out mouse targeting a Shh cis-regulatory long range brain enhancer. The approach will include molecular, cellular and embryological techniques. The project is DFG funded and embedded in the Sonderforschungsber eich 665 (Developmental disturbances of the nervous system, http://www.charite. de/sfb665/).
We are looking for a young, team oriented scientist with outstanding qualifications. We offer excellent scientific training conditions in the field of human genetics and developmental biology in an inspiring scientific surrounding.
