The University now seeks to build on its success through a programme of fully-funded research studentships commencing in October 2009. These are available to suitably qualified and motivated applicants for project areas within the following broad subject categories:
Architecture, Built Environment, Planning and Tourism
Art and Design
Business and Management
Computing and Informatics
English Literature
Law
Life, Health and Environmental Sciences
Media and Communication
Politics and International Relations
Psychology
Successful candidates will be expected to undertake up to six hours per week assisting with teaching or other academic duties, in addition to their PhD studies. The University will provide support to undertake these duties including attendance at education courses within the University that can lead to additional qualifications.
Applicants should hold, or expect to be awarded, a 2.1 Honours degree or above and preferably a Masters degree. They should also, where relevant, demonstrate English Language competence of at least IELTS 6.5 or equivalent.
