CfA: EUROPEAN BALKANS SUMMER UNIVERSITY 2009

Call for Applications

20 July – 20 August 2009, Pristina, Berlin

Number of participants: 50

For the first time, the RAAB Foundation, supported by the DAAD, GTZ, UNICEF and OSCE, organizes the Summer School on the Europeanization of Balkans Youth “European Balkans”, to be held 20 July – 20 August 2009 in: Pristina, Berlin, Paris, Amsterdam, Buxelles and Luxembourg City.

Accommodation: At University dormitories at all of the locations.

Program value: The program is taught by academics from various European countries as well as experts from international organizations.

Eligible for application: Last-year high school students and university students not older than 25.

Applicants must be citizens of: Slovenia, Croatia, Serbia, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Montenegro, Albania, Kosovo, Bulgaria or FYR Macedonia.

Subject areas: EU Policy in the Balkans, Decision making, History of the Balkans, Leadership, Nationalism, Communism and the Balkans, Balkans today: Culture, politics, youth.

Locations: 20 – 30 Jul: Pristina, Kosovo
31 Jul to 4 Aug: Berlin, Germany
4 – 8 Aug: Paris, France
8 – 12 Aug: Amsterdam, Netherlands
12 – 16 Aug: Bruxelles, Belgium
16 – 18 Aug: Luxembourg City, Luxembourg
18 – 20 Aug: Berlin, Germany
Program fee: 200€.

Scholarships: Available to 20 participants. Scholarship covers: Travel & Visa fees, program fee, and modest daily allowance.
