The award Recognizes outstanding research accomplishment and potential of women scientists in Armenia, Albania, Azerbaijan, Belarus, Bosnia, Bulgaria, the Czech Republic, Estonia, Georgia, Hungary, Kazakhstan, Kyrghyzstan, Latvia, Lithuania, Macedonia, Moldova, Montenegro, Poland, the Republic of Croatia, Romania, Russia, Serbia, the Slovak Republic, Slovenia, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan, Ukraine and Uzebekistan who would not otherwise have the opportunity to enjoy the collegiality
of membership in the ASM and quick access to the current scientific information in their fields.
Honors the contributions to bacteriology and to the American Society for Microbiology (ASM) of Dr. Morrison Rogosa.
