Internships in legal terminology (main subject fields: spatial planning and
sustainable development)
Internships offer the possibility of actively collaborating in the LexALP project, carried out by EURAC’s Institute for Specialised Communication and Multilingualism. The aim of the project is to harmonise the special language terminology used by the Alpine Convention in its four official languages French, German, Italian and Slovene, with particular reference to the legal terminology. This is done on the basis of terminology entries previously elaborated for the national and supranational legal systems of the Alpine region.

We offer an in-depth introduction to:
· theoretical principles of terminology and the practical terminology work;
specific knowledge in the subfields analysed;
corpus-based terminology work;
documentation and information retrieval methods;
working with innovative tools for terminology management (LexALP Information
System with term bank, corpus and language tools).
We require:
· interest in applied terminology;
systematic elaboration of the Slovene language terminology in one of the
subfields under analysis within the project;
testing and collaboration to the development of the online terminology data
base and corpus.
Addressees:
· hold a degree in translation, interpreting, language studies and related disciplines or a degree law; alternatively, are enrolled in the 4th to 5th year of study of one of the above-mentioned disciplines;
have native speaker competences in the Slovene language and a sound knowledge of at least one of the following languages: French, German, Italian;
have a sufficient knowledge of the English language;
are interested in terminology work or legal comparison.
The internships last at least two to three months or longer.
