The Feast of Scientific Thought (19-20 April, Vilnius, Lithuania)

There will be a great event in Vilnius (acommodation is free), where people can have a chance of getting their paper printed and a CV more enhanced ;)

Could you please distribute this e-mail to all law students, who might be interested to take part? It comes with some tours and a fun night. Here are some pics from the last year: www.egles.ten. lt

The conference was born in 1999 and was originally dedicated to the students of law.
For this reason it had a legal profile for a period of six years and was known as the Feast of Legal Thought.

Nevertheless because of developement of Mykolas Romeris university, since 2006, when many new faculties were opened it has became a conference of political, economical, administrative subjects as well.

The Feast is a great opportunity for young active students and scientists to present their papers and works. Traditionally the best papers are oficially published in a special edition publication and the best authors are always awarded.

The feast is one of the most important events at our university. It takes attention of the officials of the highest ranks – members of national parliament, ministers, judges of Constitutional Court, Supreme Court, other officials from administrative and judicial institutions, lawyers, rectors, professors and teachers. And of course the main artists in the conference are the students!!!

And revealing even more, it is absolutely true, that the Feast of Scientific Thought is not merely a conference of science. In reality it is a magnificent and charming students‘ celebration where many attractions are organized for the participants
including sightseeing trips, quiz, evening party, etc.

Therefore, this year Feast of Scientific Thought is preliminary scheduled to take place on April 26, 27.

The basic condition to join us is to send an interesting and well prepared paper by you till February 28 and of course to appear in the Feast on April.

All the participants are required to make presentations of their papers in the mini conferences of the respective scientific sections at the time of Feast (i.e. if a paper deals with criminal law, then it should be presented in the conference of criminal law... it‘s simple :))

The requirements for candidates‘ papers are following:

Topic: should be related with topical matters and cooperate at least with one of the scientific fields that our scientific sections specialize in (topics in all fields of law, economics, politics, public administration) .

Composition requirements:
The main requirement for paper is that it should consist of
• introduction, which shortly describes the essence of the paper (length: from half a page to whole a page – standard Word),
• main body (apr. 4-6 pages),
• final conclusions and author‘s proposals;
• a summary in Lithuanian language.
(for you it is required to prepare a summary for translation as we will make a lithuanian translation by ourselves)

The 1,5 spacing and 12 font size in Times New Roman is recommended.

Please, keep in mind that desirable language for papers is English, altough papers in Russian, French and German may be also accepted.

The foreign delegations will be provided with apartments at Students‘ House or hostel and at least single daily dinner. Normally it is suggested to arrive one day before the beggining of the event (that would be 25 of April).

If you are interested, we would be glad to welcome you. Please let us to know how many of you would like to participate. We would like to know about you as soon as possible as unfortunately there is a limit for foreign delegations. The same is for the papers. The sooner you forward your paper to us, the faster we would be
able to evaluate it and give back remarks if necessary.

The organizators remain free to reject a paper if it‘s quality does not satisfy the basic scientific level of the conference. Nevertheless we are ready to assist on
every step to ensure that your paper is good.

Please, send your data and all the further questions to a.matikiunas@ gmail.com and rytis.v@yahoo. com (both addresses are compulsory for the first time).

P.S. If you need visa to enter Lithuania, we will assist to get it.

Finally, keep in mind, that we will launch the official website of the Feast at the end of February at www.mrusmd.lt
