CfP: International Summer School Seggau, 27.06.-11.07.2009

Project Organization

The project will be carried out by the University of Graz, represented by the Vice Rectorate for International Relations, in cooperation with the Commission of the European Bishops' Conferences of the European Community (COMECE) and the Diocese Graz-Seckau.


Aims & Objectives

Interdisciplinary meeting and cooperation of teachers and students, focussing on East- and South-Eastern Europe and dealing with the cultural and intellectual aspects and dimensions of current European integration. Shaping profiles of future executives in different areas such as politics, administration, economy, science and religion.

Two-week Summer University
for 80 students and 15 teachers.
2 lecture series, 6 parallel seminar modules, excursion to Graz
Discussions with lectureres and guests
Accreditation via ECTS - credits (6 ECTS for participation AND obligatory seminar paper)


Seminar Paper

Seminar Paper:
Participants who will write a seminar paper have to talk to the lecturer of the module. He/she has to agree to the title of your paper.
The paper itself has to contain at least 12 pages (excluding title page), type size “12” and a line spacing of maximum “1,5”.
The format of the file has to be either a Word-Document or a PDF. NO other data formats will be accepted!
You have to send your seminar paper early enough so it reaches us until the end of August 2009!. Deadline for sending the paper is August 31st! You have to send the paper via email to our office.. All papers will be collected and passed on to the lecturers who will grade your paper until the end of September! You then will receive your certificate via regular mail which will mention the title of the seminar paper


Costs & Funding

The International Summer School Seggau is funded through grants given by sponsors and donators from all over Europe. For that reason it is possible to reduce the tuition fee for students to the small amount of Euro 400.- (reduced fee Euro 250.-) which would never cover the costs of the project. This tuition fee - which has to be paid by all students in advance - includes the Summer School programme, meals, housing and a printed report. Travel arrangements have to be made and paid for individually. Please keep in mind that in case of internet banking there may be bank service charges !!!


Cancellation

80% of your tuition fee will be refunded in case of:
- illness (Please send a medical report!)
- sever illness or death of a close relative (i.e. parents, spouse/partner, children, sisters or brothers) (Please send a medical report!)
In all other cases there is NO reimbursement!
