Turkish ISA: Call for Papers for 2007 International Studies Associat

We have received several paper proposals to be submitted as a panel for the ISA Chicago 2007 annual convention. We hope that you will distribute mail to fellow scholars and graduate students that are interested in Turkish politics. The general themes for panels include but not limited to the following:

1. Turkish foreign and security policy
2. Turkey and Europe
3. Turkey and Greater Middle East
4. Islam and Turkish foreign policy
5. Identity politics in Turkey
6. International influence on Turkish domestic politics
7. US-Turkey relations
8. Turkey and US Occupation of Iraq
9. Globalization and Islamic politics in Turkey
10. International Organizations and Democratization in Turkey
11. EU and Policy-Making in Turkey
12. Turkey and Its Neighbors
13. Turkey and the Caucasus
14. Turkey and the Balkans
15. Turkey and Eurasia
16. Turkish-Russian relations
17. Turkish-Iranian relations
18. Turkey and the Kurdish Question
19. Turkish Politics on Energy Resources
20. Turkey and Black Sea Region Security
21. Turkey and Water Issues in the Middle East
22. Turkey and International Migration
23. International Social Movements and Turkey
24. Cultural and Social Issues in Turkish foreign policy
25. Cyprus Question and Turkish foreign policy
26. Politics, Policy and Responsible Scholarship in Turkey (convention theme)

We are also looking for panel chairs and discussants regarding these topics. If you are interested in becoming a chair or discussant in any of the above mentioned topics please send us your preferences. We strongly encourage you to participate in Chicago 2007 as we will be holding the annual meeting of Turkish International Studies Association.


Send all paper proposals to halit.tagma@asu.edu by May 25th. Be sure to include in your email your contact information (address and institutional affiliation), which we will need in submitting your paper as part of a panel.
