M.Sc: Calculation of Lifetimes of Electronic Excited States in Molecules

A Masters candidate with strong interest in quantum physics and electronic structure theory is sought. Background or familiarity with scientific computing is an advantage.

This project will focus on the incorporation of complex absorbing potentials into a configuration interaction program for the calculation of lifetimes of electronic excited states in molecules. Use of the code will be demonstrated for molecular systems of interest in molecular electronics.

Positions are available immediately through funding provided by Science Foundation Ireland (SFI) and the successful applicant will work with a team of researchers
developing quantum mechanical descriptions for future electron devices.
