Since its founding in 1896, Finlandia University has remained committed to the mission of its forefathers: A Learning Community Dedicated to Academic Excellence, Spiritual Growth and Service.
Finlandia's campus setting is on the rugged finger of land known to the locals as the "Keweenaw Peninsula" in the small city of Hancock in the Upper Peninsula of Michigan. Finlandia offers nine academic programs of study, leading to baccalaureate degrees in Art and Design (BFA), Business Administration (BBA), Elementary Education (BA), Liberal Studies (BA), Liberal Studies-ACE! (BA), Nursing (BSN), Rural Human Services (BA), and associate degrees in Criminal Justice and Physical Therapist Assistant.
- Finlandia serves a student body of 553 this fall 2007.
- Finlandia's student-to-faculty ratio is 13:1, most classes have enrollments of 25 or less.
- Funding: Approximately 92% of Finlandia's students receive some sort of financial aid ($2,500 scholarships, for example).
