CfA: Postdoc/Research fellow, School of Information Systems, Singapore

At the School of Information Systems, Singapore Management University (SMU), we are currently inviting applications for Research Fellows (Postdocs).

These positions are with the research group led by Dr. Hady W. Lauw (http://www.hadylauw.com). The group's activities revolve around data mining and machine learning for the Web and social media. These new positions will be part of a research project on mining user preferences from big data for recommender systems, funded by an NRF Fellowship awarded by Singapore's National Research Foundation (NRF).

A Research Fellow (Postdoc) candidate has a PhD degree with a promising academic record in one or more relevant topics. Topics considered particularly relevant include: probabilistic graphical modeling, deep learning, topic modeling, recommender systems, dimensionality reduction, similarity search, text mining, and information extraction. A strong background in other data mining and machine learning topics will also be considered.

SMU is a fast-growing research university based in downtown Singapore. The School of Information Systems is actively involved in computing research with excellent publication records as well as research involvement with industry.
