Internships for Palestine Activists

INTERNSHIP OPPORTUNITIES FOR PALESTINE ACTIVISTS

The Palestine Freedom Project (PFP) is recruiting interns for the Summer, 2007 term. Interns will be responsible for conducting critical research, developing resources, and managing limited aspects of PFP's day-to-day operations. These positions offer hands-on experience with PFP's innovative application of private sector techniques to grassroots political activism. Interns may choose between conducting their work remotely, or joining staff and volunteers at our local office in Philadelphia.

In addition to research, typical duties of our volunteers and interns include:

* Editing and contributing content to PFP's website and publications

* Expanding our massive network of Palestine activist organizations

* Assisting in the management of a professional speakers bureau

* Participation in fundraising and external relations

A limited number of internships will be available, and will be compensated with either academic credit or a competitive stipend. Interns working for a stipend can work as many or as few hours as they request. Stipends will be paid at the conclusion of the internship, and will be calculated using a highly-competitive base
sum ($1500 for remote and $2000 for office internships) for three months of full-time work.

Internships for academic credit are available from June 1st through August 31st, 2007, as well as during the Fall and Spring academic terms. Stipend-based internships are available year-round, subject to budgetary limitations.

Applicants should be energetic, highly-motivated self-starters with
significant experience in Palestine solidarity activism. Specific skills and experience we look for include writing, editing, research, marketing, public relations, and interpersonal skills. Fluency in English is required, and advanced knowledge of other languages (particularly French, Spanish, or Arabic) is highly
desirable. Experience with basic office software, such as word processing and spreadsheet applications, is required. Knowledge of database, presentation, desktop publishing, or project management software is a major plus, and web development/administration skills even more so.

To apply, visit www.pfproject.org/intern.html and provide all the information and documents requested. If applying for a credit-based internship, include all necessary paperwork from your college or university. Women, people of color, and other minorities are strongly encouraged to apply.

All application materials must be received no later than March 31st, 2007. Decisions will be announced by April 10th.

The Palestine Freedom Project is an organization dedicated to providing resources and logistical support to grassroots Palestine solidarity activists everywhere. Our web site is located at www.pfproject.org.
