PhD/Postdoctoral positions in Micro- and Nanofluidics: Hannover

Firma/Institution: Institute for Nano and Micro Process Technology Land: Germany Position: PhD Position eingegangen am:07/02/2007

Beschreibung:
The newly established Institute for Nano- and Micro Process Technology in Hannover, Germany, offers several PhD/Postdoctoral Positions

in the field of Micro- and Nanofluidics. The positions are temporary and offer the possibility of obtaining a Ph.D. in mechanical engineering or of qualification as a postdoctoral researcher. The salary is provided according to TV-L and ranges approximately between EUR 38400,- and EUR 44800,- per year.

Our area of work is highly interdisciplinary, ranging between physics, mechanical engineering, and biomedical engineering, with research aiming to span the gap between fundamental studies of the micro- and nanoworld and emerging applications. Special areas of interest are heat and mass transfer processes on the micro- and nanoscale, interfacial microflows, mixed photonic-fluidic microsystems, and the interaction of biomolecules with fluidic interfaces. Our work is strongly based on interlinking theoretical/ modeling approaches with experimental studies.
Candidates applying for a postdoc position should have a Ph.D. in physics or engineering and have demonstrated strong potential for outstanding achievement as an independent researcher. Experience in Micro- and Nanofluidics would be beneficial, but is not required. The Leibniz University Hannover especially seeks to promote female candidates and invites qualified females to apply for the advertised positions. Disabled candidates with an equal level of qualification will be preferred.

For further information, applicants should contact Prof. S. Hardt (Email: hardt@nmp.uni- hannover. de, web: www.nmp.uni- hannover. de). Applications should include a detailed curriculum vitae, a list of publications, a statement of research interests, and should be sent to:
