Partnership Building Activity Description:
This Partnership Building Activity (PBA) “Partnership Building Activity is organized for potential partners from cities in European Countries. The Partnership Building Activity aims to enhance the cooperation between cities situated all over Europe and to create projects within the EU Youth in Action Programme. Youth Organisations can use Youth in Action projects in their aim to increase the active participation of young people in the life of their local, regional or national community or at an international level by supporting their participation in the mechanisms of representative democracy.

Existing restrains in programme countries for co-operation with partners from EECA are partly due to the lack of first hand knowledge about the situation in these countries. To solve this issue, this Partnership Building Activity will provide the platform for partner organisations from programme countries and EECA countries to obtain detailed information of YiA programme with support of experienced Trainers of SALTO EECA Centre.

The Partnership Building Activity will support the non-formal and inter-cultural learning of the participants and equip them with the necessary methods to pay it forward within the scope of youth work they will be involved in. The Partnership Building Activity allows a great deal of exchange of good practice and support for developing contacts and partnerships for the mobility activities of the YOUTH in Action between the programme countries and partner countries. The Partnership Building Activity will provide participants with knowledge about international youth work methods, necessary to running up new youth projects. It will be enriched by the inputs of more experienced youth organisations from the EU.


Partnership Building Activity (PBA) Content:
This Project aims to bring together young people from different partner organizations for the promotion of their achievements, reducing the sense of alienation and empowering them with the skills to recognize that they can be active agents of change.

This is a Partnership Building Activity developed in the framework of YOUTH IN ACTION programme targeting young people involved in local projects. By bringing together representatives of organisations or informal groups from different European countries, the project aims at enabling those young people involved in local activities to develop and realise quality Action projects as well as to help them to find partners. The programme is designed to support you in developing and planning your Action Youth in Action projects to be implemented after the Activity, including the YOUTH IN ACTION programme and Networking principles, Contact making, Project management, Teamwork, Intercultural experience.

Partnership Building Activity (PBA) aims and objectives:
· Bringing together people working with young people in order to create new project ideas within the YOUTH in Action Projects;
· Creating an atmosphere of common understanding between people representing different cultures, working styles, etc.;
· To build new partnerships between Program countries and partners countries from Eastern Europe and Caucasus region to create new project ideas within the YOUTH in Action
· To provide knowledge about possibilities of co-operation with Eastern Europe and Caucasus within the International Cooperation of Youth in Action
· To create atmosphere of common understanding between people representing different cultures, working styles, etc

Partnership Building Activity Methodology:
The Partnership Building Activity will be based on the principles and practice of non-formal education taking into account of the needs of youth NGOs, motivations / expectations and previous experiences are used as the starting point of the Youth in Action Programme. A diversity of working methods will be used for learning about Youth in Action project management: thinking together, brainstorming, creating new ideas, discussions, debates, simulations, etc. There will be space for regular feedback and evaluations.

The PBA will be based on the principles and practice of non-formal education taking into account your needs, motivations and previous experiences as starting point of the programme. A diversity of working methods will be used for learning about Youth project management: thinking together, brainstorming, creating new ideas, discussions, debates, simulations, etc. You will be supported actively to work on concrete projects and enabled to apply for Youth in Action Projects.

Target group:
v Applicant youth leaders, Youth workers, Youth Trainers, Project managers from youth NGOs, Youth Group, Youth Networks, Youth Organisations
v leaders that want to apply in the YOUTH IN ACTION Projects in the future
v Youth NGOs, Youth Group, Youth Networks, Youth Organisations that wants to apply for this project to their National Agency to host it in Lenkoran, Azerbaijan
v Active members of organizations and youth groups, local youth councils willing to develop further activities and act as multipliers within their organizations
v Be motivated to develop their knowledge and competence the specific field and to share their experiences with other participants
v Have some experience in developing youth activities in local/national level and be well informed about the activities they were involved and be prepared to present and explain their function to other participants
v Commit themselves to their function for future activities in the field of youth policy and be prepared to pass on the others the knowledge and skills gained during this activity.


Conditions:
The training is scheduled for late in October 2008 and will be hosted in Lenkoran Azerbaijan Republic. Financial support is under the European Commission’s “Youth in Action”-programme granting scheme. If approved, all costs will be covered except for 30% of the international travel and visa costs. Organizations from all 27 EU member countries plus Liechtenstein, Norway, Iceland and Turkey, YOUTH IN ACTION PROGRAMME countries are eligible to apply and EECA countries to take part. The working language of the Partnership Building Activity is English.

Countries:
All European Union countries, plus Liechtenstein, Norway, Iceland and Turkey are eligible to apply for this project. YOUTH IN ACTION Programme countries that has National Agency in their country. That’s why we are looking for applicant organisations

Time plan and venue:
Submission: 1st April 2008, submission of the application form under Youth in Action Programme

Date of the Partnership Building Activity: October, 2008
Venue: Lenkoran, Azerbaijan

Group and duration:
Group: 1 representative from 1 Youth Organisation, Youth Groups, from EU and EECA countries chosen in an open call. One of the partner organisations in “Programme Country of YIA” will be an applicant that will apply for this project to their National Agency. Now we are looking for this applicant organisation:
Duration will be 6 full working days (plus 2 more days: arrival and departure)

Next Steps:
If you like the idea and the content of this activity, and if you want your organization to apply for this project and thus be entitled to nominate for participants, then let’s start to WORK, we have already wrote draft application form of this Partnership Building Activity (Action 3.1 project application) , We just need to make all the last changes and to apply. So that’s all to make it successful.
