Announces call for applications for the fourth generation of postgraduate
program

"STATE MANAGEMENT AND HUMANITARIAN AFFAIRS"

The Master's program "State Management and Humanitarian Affairs" is an international, interdisciplinary postgraduate program. This program is designed to provide postgraduate students, especially the employees of public and private sectors, with professional knowledge to be used in the regional, national, and international institutions. Through this program students are introduced to good government practices, strategic governance of the public, private and non-profit organizations, crisis prevention and crisis management, as well as protection of human rights.

Students attend lectures organized into 8 academic modules: Methodology of Research, Economics, Institution Building and Human Rights, International Organizations and International Relations, Geopolitics, Crisis Management and Humanitarian Affairs, Health Quality Management, and Environmental Sustainability. Following the lectures, students research the topic of their interest, and do their internships. They finish the program by completing and defending their master's theses. The program is taught in English.

The Italian Ministry of Foreign Affairs secured the funds for students to visit and attend classes at La Sapienza University in Rome.

How to apply:

All applicants must have a university diploma, be fluent in English, and have good computer skills. There are no restrictions regarding appicant's nationality.

When applying, it is necessary to submit:

- Official transcript and the certified copy of the university diploma of a four-year program (translated to B-H-S language and with accreditation from a B-H university if required)

- resume (Curriculum Vitae)

- appllication/ motivation letter

- if not a native English speaker, a certificate that confirms the knowledge of the language

Anticipated first day of class: May 9th, 2008. Classes are taught in the evening and on the weekends, to accomodate the needs of those students who hold full time employment.

Diploma: The master's diploma is signed and recongized by the University of Sarajevo, University La Sapienza, Rome and the University of Belgrade.

Tuition: 10.000,00 KM, with an option to pay in four installments.

All application materials should be delivered to the Center for Interdisciplinary Postgraduate Studies, University of Sarajevo, Zmaja od Bosne 8 (University campus).

Application deadline: April 15th, 2008.

Note: Candidates who are accepted into the program will be informed immediately after the interviews. If the number of selected candidates is less than 20, the Master's will not be carried out.

All interested candidates may receive more information about the program at the informational meeting on March 26th at 18:00, at the Center for Interdisciplinary Postgraduate Studies, University of Sarajevo, Zmaja od Bosne 8 (university campus). Program coordinators will be answering questions related to this program.
