Doctorate (Phd) Faculty Of Sciences. Second Competition Session - Academic Year 2010-2011
Art.1 The second session of the Competition for the assignment of the remaining twenty-eight PhD scholarships for the Faculty of Sciences is now open. The application deadline is 20 September 2010, and the positions available are:
5 places in Molecular Biophysics in partnership with the Italian Institute of Technology (IIT);
4 places in Chemistry;
5 places in Physics;
3 places in Condensed Matter Physics in partnership with the Silvio Tronchetti Provera Foundation and the Region of Tuscany;
4 places in Mathematics;
3 places in Mathematics for Industrial Technologies and Finance in partnership with the National Institute of Geophysics and Volcanology (INGV) and the Region of Tuscany;
4 places in Neuroscience in partnership with the Region of Tuscany.
Art.2 Every Selection Committee shall determine the minimum number of points necessary to consider each exam as passed.
Art.3 Candidates who did not pass the oral exam in the spring session are reminded that they must expressly request of the Scuola Normale by email if they prefer - the possibility to participate in the autumn session of the Competition, acceding directly to the written and/or oral exams of that session.
Art.4 The 3rd paragraph of Art.3 (GRE Test) of the Regulations for the Announcement of Competition dated 3 February 2010 is integrated as follows:
f) PhD in Molecular Biophysics: GRE Subject Test: Physics, Chemistry, or Biochemistry, Cell and Molecular Biology.
Art.5 For all other matters, the Competition Regulations issued with Scuola Normale Presidential Decree no. 76 dated 3 February 2010 remain valid. The full text can be found at:
