Department of History at Goldsmiths, University of London, is pleased to announce one 3-year, full-time, PhD studentship in history, available from October 2010 or January 2011.
The studentship will be awarded to an exceptional candidate whose profile has the potential to enhance the department's overall research and/or make a significant contribution to the work of a research group within the department. The department has particular strengths in political, religious, cultural and intellectual history and is home to the Centre for the Study of the Balkans (http://www.gold.ac.uk/csb/). Applicants should hold, or expect to have attained, a masters degree (distinction or merit) by the time the studentship commences. As part of the studentship, the successful candidate will be expected to carry out light teaching and/or administrative duties, normally in years 2 and 3.
