PhD Fellowship: Transcriptional Regulation of Lipid Storage, Syddansk Universitet, Denmark

The PhD fellow will join our efforts to elucidate the molecular details of lipid metabolism and signalling in the areas of metabolism, diabetes and obesity. We are seeking a candidate interested in examining transcriptional regulation of lipid storage in mammalian cells and in C. elegans. The work will include the use of molecular biology and biochemical techniques applied on mammalian cell lines and C. elegans. Prior experience in molecular biology and cell biology, lipid biochemistry and handling of eukaryotic model systems like mammalian cell lines and/or C. elegans is required.

Place of work: Department of Biochemistry and Molecular Biology, University of Southern Denmark, Odense, Denmark. The project involves the Færgeman group (lipid metabolism and signalling), the Mandrup group (transcriptional regulation, metabolism) and the Jensen group (proteomics and mass spectrometry) and their collaborators at the SDU Faculty of Health.

This is a mobility fellowship which is part of the activities of the graduate research programme ‘Molecular Metabolism’ financed by the Danish Research Agency. The student’s present degree must have been awarded from a university other than the University of Southern Denmark.
