March 30-31st, 2012
University of Pittsburgh, Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania

The global financial crisis is one of the many challenges that the European Union has faced. These challenges have affected its citizens, institutions, and policy-making capabilities. The Organizing Committee of the Seventh Annual Graduate Student Conference on the European Union welcomes papers addressing the theme, "Crisis, Cooperation, and Change in the European Union." Submissions are welcome from all disciplines on a variety of topics including, but not limited to, EU politics, governance, economics, history, security studies and institutions, as well as policies covering enlargement, immigration, development, trade, transatlantic relations, and foreign policy.

Submission Deadline for Abstracts: December 16, 2011

Abstracts should be 250-300 words in length. Preference will be given to abstracts that clearly specify the paper's research design, including theoretical approach and methods. Abstracts must be submitted on- line. Please also upload a current C.V. with your submission. Only authors enrolled in degree-granting graduate or professional programs are eligible to participate.

Submissions will be accepted on-line between November 16 and December 16, 2011: www.ucis.pitt.edu/euce/ or http://www.eustudies.org/

The University of Pittsburgh library system houses one of the largest and most complete archives of primary and secondary documents on the European Union, dating back to the beginnings of the European Coal and Steel Community. Conference presenters are given access to the archive for research while in Pittsburgh. This conference is made possible through the generous support of the European Commission.
