INTERNATIONAL CONFERENCE “The Middle East: Language, Literature and History”
October 30-31, 2012
Yerevan, Armenia
Venue: Opening and closing ceremonies and conference sessions will be held at Yerevan State University (A. Manukyan str. 1, Yerevan, Armenia).
The faculty of Oriental Studies Yerevan State University is organizing an International Conference dedicated to the 125th anniversary of the prominent orientalist JosephOrbeli. The conference will be focused on a broad range of topics on Caucasian and Middle Eastern Studies.
The conference will address the following topics:
1. Linguistics - Old and new languages of the Caucasus and the Middle East
2. Literature – Caucasian and Middle Eastern Literatures
3. History – Histories of the Caucasus and the Middle East
4. Modern regional developments in the Caucasus and the Middle East
Abstracts (not exceeding 500 words, in Microsoft Word format) are to be emailed by October 5, 2012 to the secretary of Organizing Committee: hkocharyan@ysu. am. Please indicate “International Conference” in the subject line of the email. The contact details and scientific affiliation of the participant should be included. The scheduled time for each paper presentation is 15 minutes plus 5 minutes for discussion. The working languages of the conference are Armenian, Russian and English.
