CfA: Teaching appointments at the International Summer University

Apply now to teach at the International Summer University Macedonia 2007! The ISUM Coordination Committee is now accepting applications from international teaching faculty to teach at the International Summer University Macedonia 2007! The third International Summer University Macedonia will be organized from 7-22 July 2007 in Bitola by the universities of Bitola, Skopje, Tetovo, the SEE University and the
Academic Training Association (ATA).

The ISUM offers 20 courses in the disciplines of Law, Economics, Business, Public Administration, Education Science and Teacher Training. It is the largest summer
university in Europe, bringing together more than 600 students from and professors from all over Europe. Each course is taught by one international visiting professor in cooperation with a professor from Macedonia. In addition to the courses, public debates, excursions and social activities will be organised.

The preparation for the summer courses includes a one-week study visit by the co-professor to the institution of the visiting professor. Visiting professors at the
ISUM teach pro bono. Travel expenses are reimbursed and free accommodation is provided. Visiting professors receive full board or a modest allowance. Visiting professors are expected to have a PhD degree, a position at a (preferably Western European) university and teaching experience in the relevant field.

The ISUM is a project aims to support reform processes and introduction of Bologna standards at the participating universities in Macedonia. The project is financed by the Netherlands Embassy in Macedonia and participating local institutions.
