Public Affairs Stagiaire/Trainee – for the leading EU policy media in Brussels
EurActiv - the leading online independent media on EU affairs - is recruiting interns to join the marketing team for a period of 6 months (extendable to 12 months). We are seeking recent graduates (still connected to their university) funded via the Leonardo da Vinci mobility scheme, which supports approved training programmes for students working in an EU member state other than their own:

As a Public Affairs intern, you will be an integrated part of the Public Affairs/Corporate team, responsible for relations between EurActiv and corporate (potential) sponsors.

Tasks and learning opportunities include:
PA and PR: Learn more about EU affairs and corporate communication at EU level!
• Research on companies' EU activities and communication strategies
• Research on specific industry sectors to identify main actors and policy developments
• Elaboration of ideas to enhance the profile and positioning of companies at European level
• Monitoring of EU and business news
Account management: Gain experience in client management and improve your technical skills!
• Preparation of presentations and reports to corporate sponsors
• Help develop corporate advertising campaigns & media plans
• Ensuring client satisfaction: identification of relevant EurActiv coverage for sponsors and informing clients about their campaigns
Other tasks: Learn more about online media, become part of a multicultural working environment and improve your language skills!
• Supporting coordination between different departments regarding client services
• Participation in introduction sessions, corporate team meetings and training (in English and French)
• Monitoring personnel changes in EU corporate circles and keeping database up to date
Profile
• Strong English proficiency (spoken and written) plus spoken French are essential
• Tertiary education in business, marketing or communication is preferred
• Previous internship or other work experience in marketing is desirable
• Friendly phone-manner and good inter-personal skills are required
• Frequent user of Internet services and familiarity with MS Office
• Pro-active person, open-minded, flexible, and team-player
• Ability to work effectively in a multicultural and dynamic environment
• Highly-motivated and able to meet tight deadlines
A small financial contribution will be paid on top of the Leonardo grant.
