Possible Opportunities with the World Bank

There are several possible opportunities for internships and short term consultancies available at the World Bank based in Washington DC.

These assignments will entail writing research reports, carrying out secondary data collection, assisting with putting together fairly complex Bank documents, among other tasks. The assignments will be with the East Asia Social Development Unit.

Criteria:
- Recent undergraduate BA or advanced degree with a strong academic background in the social sciences (sociology, anthropology, economics, geography, or political science)
- Interest in qualitative and quantitative research with demonstrated ability to carry out solid, reputable research
- Excellent writing capabilities and interest in writing is a must
- Demonstrated ability to analyze and write up results from mixed methods applied socioeconomic research programs
- Familiarity with development issues (academic) will be a strong advantage
- Developing country experience (residence and work experience) is an advantage
