*General information*
30th Anniversary of Research on and Education of G/T Children will be held in Beijing, China during October 18-20, 2008. The anniversary meeting is organized by Center for Gifted and Talented Children of China, Institute of Psychology, Chinese Academy of Science, and with the collaborations of National Talented Speciality Communittee, Chinese Talents Society, University of Science and Technology of China, The High School Affiliated to Renmin University of China, Bejing No.8 Middle School, Tianjin Yaohua High School, North-Easten Yucai School, Gifted Education Council, HongKong, Happy Time Kindergarten and so on. The Purposes of the meeting will be :
Summarizing the productions and experiences in research of G/T children for the past 30 years; Discussing to make a breakthrough in the research of G/T children; Studying the main problems for the development of G/T children; Establishing corresponding education strategies; Strengthen more international cooperation and intercommunion.
The main topics are: Identification of the gifted children; Curriculum and programs training practice for the gifted education; Acceleration, enrichment and alternatives of gifted education; Mental health and behavior problems of gifted children; Cognitive development of gifted children; Socialization development of gifted children; The brain and biological foundation of the giftedness assessment; Education and research on special talent; Education and research on disable gifted children and so on. Various Formats are welcome: invited report, topic discussions, group discussions, posters presentations.
We warmly invite home and oversea scholars, experts and teaching staff on research and education of G/T children to join the meeting. Some famous researchers, such as Professor Robert J. Sternberg will give reports as well in the meeting.
