We offer a Phd position in the field of electron spin dynamics in semiconductor quantum dots.
Main focus will be on the interaction with the nuclear spins of the lattice atoms and how a nuclear polarization can be induced and manipulated by optical excitation. The candidate is expected to perform various spectroscopic measurements, time-resolved and in external magnetic fields, down to a single-dot level. She/he is expected to assemble a Hanbury-Brown- Twiss setup for spin correlation measurements.
The project is funded by the Deutsche Forschungsgemeinsch aft and the candidate will be paid according to 2/3-3/4 BAT IIa depending on qualification.
