The Department of Social Sciences has a quota of three 1+3 ESRC studentships (i.e. for up to 4 years of study) to commence in October 2009. Candidates wishing to work in the areas of Sociology, Social Psychology, Criminology and Social Policy, and Communication and Media Studies are invited to apply. The Department is also offering a further single 1+3 studentship in Cultural Sociology, also starting this October.
Before they apply we urge applicants to identify and contact a potential supervisor having studied our staff profiles and research interests on our Departmental homepages (www.lboro.ac.uk/departments/ss/staff/academic_staff.html). Applicants should have or expect to obtain, a First or Upper Second class honours degree in a social science related discipline. Fees together with a maintenance grant of £13,290 per annum are available to UK applicants as well as EU citizens with at least 3 years' UK residence by the time their studies commence (i.e. this October). A fees only award is available to other EU candidates.
