The renewed Summer Institute is a joint initiative of ZonMw, The Netherlands Organisation for Health Research and Development, and the Graduate School of Social Sciences.

This programme offers graduate students of various disciplines and professionals a great opportunity to advance their knowledge in the field of addiction studies in an international environment.
The Institute is an intensive two-week summer programme that seeks to provide a multi disciplinary approach to the study of addiction and to promote opportunities for international networking among participants. All participants will receive an official certificate from the Universiteit van Amsterdam.
Special attention will be paid to research supported by ZonMw. Other focuses will be on policy models, prevention, evidenced based treatment and their intersections.
Deadline for Applications: April 15, 2010.
We expect a class of approximately 20-25 students. The Institute's classes are intensive seminars with discussions, excursions, faculty lectures and guest lectures by prominent people in the field, like Prof. Dr. Wim van den Brink, Prof. Dr. Dike van de Mheen, Dr.Gonneke Willemsen, Dr Jean-Paul Grund and Dr. Margriet van Laar.

ZonMw has made 5 tuition waivers available for participants from specific new European countries available (see application page).
