HTSR is concerned with the clinical and economic outcomes of (future) medical technology and the efficient organization of health care, and contributes to several education programs including health sciences, technical medicine and biomedical engineering. …who would like to contribute to our success in the interdisciplinary field of medical technology assessment and entrepreneurship research.
Research
The general objective of the research is to increase the likelihood of market success of biomedical start-ups by developing and validating scientific methods for early medical technology assessment (MTA) that fit the company’s business development and its knowledge conversion capabilities. It is expected that this 2-year research project provides important insights in the integration of entrepreneurship theory and medical technology assessment and results in publications in ISI entrepreneurship, management and MTA journals. To achieve this, we provide you with access to start-up/spin-off firms and a unique and rich database of life sciences and genomics firms.
The work will be carried out within the departments of Health Technology and Services Research (HTSR) andKnowledge Intensive Entrepreneurship (NIKOS) and builds on the extensive, combined experience of the groups in medical technology assessment and entrepreneurship research. You will be part of a team of enthusiastic colleagues. The research groups are closely linked with the renowned biotech-, nanotech- and health institutes of the University of Twente.
Profile
We are looking for a talented post doc researcher (PhD) with a relevant background in economics (e.g. health economics or innovation economics), management, econometrics or technology assessment, who is interested to work in the new and rapidly developing field of biomedical entrepreneurship and technology assessment. Experience with quantitative analysis or decision- analytic modelling is a prerequisite.
Employment conditions
We offer a challenging position in an inspiring environment. We offer a fulltime employment (38 hours a week) as a Researcher, for the duration of two years. The salary scale, depending on your experience, extends to a maximum of € 3755 gross per month (on full-time basis), based upon the job profile of Researcher (in accordance with the Collective Labour Agreement for Dutch Universities). In addition, the University of Twente offers attractive fringe benefits.
