“We all do the same”

NAYORA– National Assembly of Youth Organizations of Republic of Azerbaijan, and Azerbaijani-American Youth Social Association AAYSA in collaboration with Directorate of Youth and Sport of the Council of Europe is implementing the international training course for youth workers within European Youth Campaign on Diversity, Human Rights and Participation “All Different, All Equal”.

NAYORA and AAYSA are planning to dedicate its next international meeting to the All Different-All Equal Campaign by bringing together international youth workers to discuss the main components of the campaign and create a condition for young people for exchange of experience and ideas on the campaign work. To engage youth NGO workers/leaders of western and central European and Azerbaijani young people into the formulation and implementation of European youth policy and to the All Different-All Equal Campaign work and create a condition for meeting among them both organizations are intending to carry out International training course for youth workers entitled: “We all do the same”. The training course of youth workers will provide an opportunity to develop the youth strategy on dimension and on dissemination of All Different-All Equal Campaign in Europe and actively involvement of young people into the campaign work and civil society initiatives. Training course will raise the awareness of young people and will be fostering their initiatives against the cases like intolerance, national, ethnic, cultural, religious, social discrimination, gender inequality and discrimination of social and employment rights of young people in their countries through non-formal education. From this point it is very important of organizing such international event that will bring together international youth workers together with different cultural backgrounds to discuss the main components of “All Different-All Equal” campaign and enlarge cooperation among them aimed at combining and fostering the youth workers potential opportunities in combating against the discrimination cases across the Europe. Meeting of international youth workers in this training course will set up partnership between them on joint implementation of the All Different-All Equal Campaign projects and will help them to know the ongoing campaign activities across the Europe. It is will be an opportunity for international youth workers to train and see whether they are doing the same campaign activities in their countries and by this share their experience. Precisely this training course will help the young people to find out these questions and think about prospective cooperation. The participants will also design joint projects directed to the combining the initiatives of the international youth workers on the widely dissemination of the campaign in Europe.

Aims and objectives of the International training course for youth workers:
The main purpose of the international training course is the dissemination of the main components of “All Different – All Equal” campaign among the international youth workers by raising an interest and initiatives in youth on this topic for establishing the equality, tolerance, diversity and respect among the young people and in their society.


Objectives:

 The project goal is to set up cooperation between the international youth workers concerning the educating young generation on the All Different-All Equal Campaign and about the rights of minorities, the equal position and the equal capability of women and men, issues concerning the tolerance in society.

 Providing participants with relevant information concerning “All Different-All Equal” campaign -To enable non-organized and less-privileged youth groups be a part of the discussions and to encourage them to join the civil-society projects.

 To increase the level of cooperation and sense of commitment in youth sectors of the participating countries.

 Combining and fostering the youth workers potential opportunities in combating against the discrimination cases across the Europe.

 To set up partnership between the youth workers on joint implementation of the All Different-All Equal Campaign projects and will help them to know the ongoing campaign activities across the Europe.


Program elements and Methodology of the course:

Within the training course the youth workers will be involved in preparation the strategy concept paper on European cooperation module of youth workers in dissemination the main components of the All Different-All Equal Campaign across the Europe. At the last stage of discussions the youth workers will prepare project proposals to CoE, European Youth Foundation which will be submitted together with strategy concept paper on European cooperation module of youth workers in dissemination the main components of the All Different-All Equal Campaign across the Europe which in its turn will help in follow up of the project idea.





Training methods will be used:

Within the 4 days training course participants will discuss the prospective of cooperation and preparation of the common platform for running up the further activity of the campaign across the Europe, to prepare campaign multipliers at local level, to contribute into the sustainable contacts and partnership among the European youth workers on the continuation of dissemination the main principles of the “All-Different-All Equal” Campaign namely Human Rights, Participation, Diversity after the official campaign period.

As agreed every team member of the International working group of the project will make a presentation on the current situation concerning the Campaign, the activities and projects implemented till today and the possible opportunities and fostering ties among the youth workers to continue in strengthening campaign activity all over the Europe.

• Intercultural dimension:

Intercultural learning: In this training participants will demonstrate their cultural aspects, national foods and different materials about their countries. During the intercultural evening, participants will able to demonstrate their special leaflets, posters, films about their culture. Also participants will be practiced against the intolerance, gender imbalance, discrimination and inequality of national and ethnic minorities through non-formal education and interactive methods such as different games, debates, exchanges of views. Participants' experiences, active participation, group-work and teamwork, as well as theoretical inputs will characterize the program of the training.

Working languages:

English, Russian and Azerbaijanian are the working language of the training. Applicants must have sufficient understanding of English language in order to comprehend and complete the application form without assistance from another person.


Profile of the participants and recruitment procedure:

 Be aged between 18-30 years;
 Eligible countries: Azerbaijan, Russian Federation, Georgia, Moldova, Ukraine, Belarus, France, Sweden, Latvia, Lithuania and Estonia;
 We are expecting eight local participants from Azerbaijan;
 Professional youth workers/Youth NGO leaders;
 Young people from ethnic, national minority, cultural groups;
 Act as a multiplies once back home;
 Young people involved in youth work and in international/regional youth organizations;
 Active youth possessing the experienced background in youth work;
 Strongly meet the selection criteria with motivation letter;
 Be actively involved in his/her youth organization, therefore be well informed about the European Campaign “All Different – All Equal” in his/her country;
 Be prepared to represent activities of the sending organization to the participants of this meeting;
 Be committed fully to attend the course and be supported by their youth organization;

All candidates must apply using the enclosed application form. This form should be sent directly to the email address of Organizers, together with a letter of recommendation from the sending organization or service, no later than 25th of March, 2007.

The preparatory team will make the selection of participants on the basis of the motivation, perceived training needs, experience and potential for multiplication within a viable youth work context by individual candidates and sending organizations. In addition, the team will try to ensure a balance between gender, geographical regions, and different types of experiences, cultural backgrounds and organizations.

The results will be announced after 10th of April and only selected participants will be contacted. Due to the large number of applications expected, the Organizers are not in a position to confirm refusal to candidates not accepted for the training.

Accepted candidates will receive all relevant documentation in advance of the meeting by e-mail. The sending organizations and their successful applicants are reminded that once a candidate has been placed on the final list, they must make every effort to attend for the full duration of the training. If, for any exceptional reason, they are unable to take up the offer of a place, they must inform the organizers immediately. Replacements, but not necessarily candidates from the same organization, will be taken from the waiting list.


Technical Information

Accommodation
Board and lodging will be provided by organizers for the whole duration of the meeting in Azerbaijan.

Insurance
Participants are asked to have their own insurance for the duration of the training for accident, civil liability or illness. The organizers do not cover insurance costs.

Financial Information

Travel reimbursement
Travel costs of all participants will be reimbursed based on the original tickets, invoices and all travel related tickets. 70% percent of the price of the tickets will be covered by organizers. Below is given maximal amounts of money to be reimbursed according to countries.


500 Euros for France; (Maximal ticket price 650€)
500 Euros for Sweden; (Maximal ticket price 650€)
500 Euros for Germany; (Maximal ticket price 650€)
350 Euros for Latvia, Lithuania and Estonia ;( Maximal ticket price 500€)
280 Euros for Russia, Belarus, Moldova and Ukraine ;( Maximal ticket price 400€)
35 Euros for Georgia; (Maximal ticket price 50€)

There is a travel reimbursement for the 8 local participants coming from different regions of Azerbaijan. Visa costs of foreign participants will not be reimbursed by the organizers.

Due to a low budget for transport, we encourage participants that come from a range of 1000 km to use bus or train as means of transport.

Before purchasing your tickets, please consult with the organizers upon the travel costs.

We kindly ask you to use any alternative possibilities of funding that can cover travel costs. Sometimes your sending organizations or structures would effort to cover the travel costs or you may identify small local grants to contribute for the travel cost. We would appreciate very much your help.
