Basic Information
A Fun Learning Opportunity : Are you interested in international politics? Would you like to see how the European Parliament operates? Would you like to discuss your vision for the future of Europe ? Can you help to make a difference and advise the EU? If so, then come to this conference, because at the EYS Conference – IDEA Model European Parliament, you will have a chance to become a European Parliament official – it's a great way to experience the way the European Parliament works, to learn new skills, and discuss important issues with youth from different countries. The debates will lead to advices for the EU and will be presented to the European
Commission in Rome .

When? Friday March, 16th and Saturday March, 17th, 2007

Who? EYS conference is for university students, secondary school students, youth workers, and educators, who care about the future of Europe .

Conference Costs? There is no conference fee! We even provide lunch, dinner and an exciting cultural evening for free. However, participants will have to pay for their own travel and accommodation costs.

European Youth Speak Project
The European Youth Speak conference is an IDEA initiative in cooperation with the department of Speech Communication, Argumentation Theory and Rhetoric, University of Amsterdam and the National Youth Council. The European Youth Speak Conference is part of the European Youth Speak project in which IDEA is partnering with debate organizations from Czech Republic , Estonia , Latvia and Slovakia , and the HREA organization in the Netherlands . The International Debate Education Association (IDEA) develops, organizes, and promotes debate and debate-related educational
activities in more than 40 countries throughout the world. IDEA acts as an independent membership organization for national debate clubs, associations, programs, and individuals who share a common purpose: to promote cross-cultural understanding and democracy globally by supporting discussion and active citizenship locally. IDEA actively works with organizations and institutions interested in democratizing knowledge, empowering youth, and making a positive difference in the
world today.
