The Laboratory for Design of Microsystems is conducting in-depth research in MEMS for
medical applications, micro energy technology and micro process engineering. We are seeking qualified candidates for several open positions:
Group Manager “Micro Energy Technology”
Post-Doc position (A13), open from September/October 2007, limited to three years
Group Manager “Micro Process Engineering”
Post-Doc position (A13), open from November 2007, limited to three years
You will guide and further develop an existing research team to conduct internationally visible and renowned research. As a young scientist, you will work towards a wellacknowledged position in the world-wide research community. You will develop your research team through the acquisition of domestic and international research projects. You will actively involve yourself in our MEMS teaching activities. Team building is one of the major instruments to accomplish your goals, which you tackle with ambition and innovative research ideas.
Suitable candidates will have an excellent Ph.D. thesis in science or engineering and
relevant expertise in their discipline, preferably complemented by knowledge in MEMS
modelling, design, fabrication and application.

Ph.D. Student “Micro Process Engineering”

Ph.D. Student Thermoelectric microgenerators”

Ph.D. Student “Piezoelectric microgenerators”
1 Ph.D. position (tax-free DFG research grant), currently vacant, limited to three
years
We are seeking candidates with an excellent university degree in a relevant scientific or engineering discipline, preferably complemented by knowledge in MEMS. You like working in a team and are eager to tackle your ambitious research tasks within a short initiation period. After appropriate training, you will assume project management responsibilities, and. will also take part in our MEMS teaching program, e.g. as a tutor for students.
