With our Round 1 application deadline now just five weeks away, I wanted to write with a few updates from Carnegie Mellon University in Qatar.
First, since the Round 1 deadline of March 1 falls on a Saturday, we will be accepting applications handed in on Sunday the 2nd and we will accept applications that come through the mail for a few days after that.
Second, Carnegie Mellon has added a third major in Qatar, Information Systems. This is a four-year Bachelor of Science degree, just like our other two majors here.

Third, we will have some merit scholarship funds available this year for our top admits.
I will just add a note about the online Common Application, which this year was re-launched in a new format. I've found the site to be a bit confusing, and so if you have students that feel as I do, please let them know that we happily accept the paper forms.
