The Center on Medicine as a Profession seeks an Associate Research Scholar to join a project that is exploring the relationships between the medical profession and the pharmaceutical and device industries. The project is analyzing the impact of existing conflict of interest policies on industry relationships at academic medical centers and professional medical associations. The project also provides technical assistance to centers and associations that are considering a revision of their policies.
The Associate Research Scholar will focus attention on the device industry. Through a variety of methods, including evaluation of existing literature and field work, the Associate Research Scholar will examine the relationship between the device industry and academic medical centers and professional medical associations. The research will include identifying best practices and conducting case studies of successful programs. The Associate Research Scholar will share results with the team and participate in the drafting of articles and materials for publication.
