Transitio, a trilingual peer reviewed journal on migration.
Transitio publishes high quality scientific work and contributes theoretical debates on migration. It aims to be a bridge between scientific work and practical concerns of migrant populations through its sensitivity to virtue of local knowledge and of field research.
Call for Papers
Special issue: "Migration and Civil Society".
Migration has become a very important topic of discussion in recent years. Migrants are political subjects for transforming and challenging public spheres all over the world but on the other hand they form various groups which are affected by changes in various public spheres. Migration has become a critical issue to discuss possibilities of civil society and democracy in terms of its power and limits within a contemporary framework of two opposing dynamics: rapid transnationalizatio n and increasing racist and discriminative movements.
The special issue aims at covering the main points of the discussion mainly around the following topics though it is not limited with.
Migration and limits of democracy?
Migrants NGOs
Transnational NGOs and democratization
Post national citizenship and migrant civil society
Roles of NGOs in the delivery of socials services for migrants
International social policy and migrants
Organization of sans papier
Feminist migrant organizations
Solidarity among migrants and civil society
Response of civil society towards discourses on integration
