The Law Faculty "Iustinianus Primus" in Skopje in consortium with eleven Law Faculties from South East Europe (Faculty of Law of Tirana, Faculty of Law of Sarajevo, Faculty of Law "Ðemal Bijediæ" Mostar, Faculty of Law of Mostar, Faculty of Law of Banja Luka, Faculty of Law of Rijeka, Faculty of Law of Zagreb, Faculty of Law of Belgrade and Faculty of Law of Podgorica) and financially supported by the GTZ Open Regional Fund for South East Europe-Legal Reform is offering a 1-year master programme leading to a Master's degree in EU Business Law. The programme meets the new academic requirements imposed by the so-called Bologna process.
The legal focus of the programme is on the broader ambit of European integration, also touching upon different economic and political aspects of the integration process and duly considering their legal and practical implications. Thereby, education in EU Business Law matters will be advanced and will contribute to extending the profile and the pool of professionals, acquainted with EU Business Law and therefore competent, to actively participate in the implementation of the Acquis.
The programme will provide students with necessary skills to deal with legal issues related to the accession of Albania, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Croatia, Macedonia, Montenegro and Serbia to the EU and encourage students to develop a critical awareness of the operation of European Law. The degree will enable participants to pursue a professional career within any of the wide-ranging European associations and companies (consultancy firms, European federations, lobby groups, territorial representations in Brussels, etc.) that are involved in the various aspects and facets of the European integration process. By developing a programme which will be carried out under a common curricula and common regional and international academic staff will enable students to carry out their studies at different countries and participating institutions.
This programme is the first of its kind to be fully conceived for professionals (civil servants, lawyers, judges and other legal experts, as well as professionals and graduates interested in EU law). Applications for admission can be submitted to the participating Law Faculty from each country. Attached we are sending you the advertisement, application form and Test programme for the non-lawyer candidates who wish to attend the programme. Deadline for submission of the applications is November 7 2008.
