CfP: OpenForum 6: Quarreling over Europe. Paris, 12 - 14 December 2008

Citizens of Europe e.V. and the Maison de l'Europe de Paris organize the sixth OpenForum. We will meet in Paris (France) on Decemeber 12 - 14, 2008.

Our OpenFora are opportunities for interested citizens to exchange views and experience on topics that go beyond mere European-integrationist matters. They are designed as weekend debates, in order to be open for people of all generations.

We are happy to invite you to this event which aims at welcoming citizens from different countries to debate on the topic: Quarreling over Europe - what does it need to achieve results?

Why does an open, controverse, and constructive debate about Europe rarely succeed? Which reflexes, which habits, which assumptions, which fears hinder us to discuss openly and also in a self-critical way? By realising this project, we seek a dialogue between outspoken supporters of the European Union and Eurosceptic thinkers and activists.

By participating in the OpenForum You will: - enjoy a controversial and lively debate on different ways to take responsibility for the future of Europe; - experiment with and appreciate mutual respect and recognition when initiating and participating in a transnational European debate; - get to know local associations and initiatives; - network and exchange experiences among a pool of exciting and like- informed, but not essentially like-minded people.
